While we’re best known for working on classic Mercedes, we’re starting to see more requests for some cars from the early 2000s come in. While we’re not in the business of working on daily drivers, we do enjoy working on cars that people collect or keep as enthusiast cars. A recent challenge was this 2004 Maybach 57. Most dealers won’t touch a car like this anymore, and parts availability is scarce. I’m in the unique position of having worked on this platform during the R&D phase as an engineer and have some familiarity with how its systems work and interact. After some extensive parts research we were able to repair suspension, driveshaft, and air conditioning issues on this car. We also got the original Becker navigation working, which I helped develop early in my career.
