Thompson's Garage We are a small hot rod shop located in Cincinnati, Ohio and specialize in custom chassis’s for 47-55.1/55-59/ 60-66 Chevy and GMC Trucks.

Provide quality hot rod parts, fabricate and build turnkey hot rods or partial builds. We like building traditional style hot rods, trucks, 50's - 60's customs and gassers.

1948-1955.1 Chevy or GMC truck frame rails $3300 pr.

The rails are made on our frame rail fixture and are the same rails we use for our custom chassis. They have 5/16-24 threaded bungs welded in for the running board brackets and battery tray - you can use your factory brackets or aftermarket

We have one of each style currently available:

Stock Style (7"-9" ride height - no modifications needed)
Slammed Coil Over (5" ride height - bed modifications needed)
Air Bag (4" ride height to laid out - bed modifications needed)
*Measurements are based on 28" tall tire - your ride height will vary on tire size

The rails will come straight so you can make the factory A-Frame style chassis, or you can cut and pinch the back for a custom chassis for a wider wheel / tire setup

They can be used for short bed trucks, suburbans or panel trucks

We redesigned our 1949-1951 Ford shoebox front clips in Fusion 360

We have the clips in both an airbag version and a coil over version - we customized the air bag version shown to accommodate a rear steer rack per the customers request

We are going to start offering our 1948-1955.1 Chevy or GMC shortbed trucks, suburbans, and panels frame rails to the DIY customers that like to fabricate. The rails will be made in our frame rail fixture and are the same rails we use for our custom chassis.

We will offer rails in the following configurations:
Stock Style (7"-9" ride height - no modifications needed)
Slammed Coil Over (5" ride height - bed modifications needed)
Air Bag (4" ride height to laid out - bed modifications needed)

We are starting our prototype chassis for the 73-87 Chevy squarebody trucks - once we get this chassis done and work out any issues we will add it to our offerings. We want to build this one and make sure it has the same style and quality as our other Chevy truck chassis offerings

One of our customers Chad Davis from Florida built this killer Suburban using one of our 48-55.1 slammed coil over chassis. Our chassis is designed specifically for suburbans or panel trucks - all the factory body mount locations are provided and our core support design allows you to use Chevy or GMC front sheetmetal. He’s building a truck next using our slammed coil over chassis for it - Can’t wait to see that build.
