This Friday night, July 24th, the second annual Summer Sizzler at Tri-City Raceway Park has been increased from $7,000 to win to now $8,600 to win as a tribute to Andy and Billie Lutz and their iconic number 86. The Lutz family has added extra cash to every position with all spots from 4th on back an added $86 for special significance. A year ago, Jeremy Weaver scored the biggest win of his career in the inaugural and he will be back to defend his title with a strong cast of drivers indicating their intent to be there.
A little over a week ago, FAST was in the same region for $10,000 to win at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway and an all star cast of 39 drivers were on hand. National touring drivers, FAST touring drivers, regional Pennsylvania stars and the best of the western PA locals were on hand and most are expected back this Friday.
John Jerich just took the FAST point lead but Ricky Peterson looms large with another consistent season. Tyler Gunn is not out of the running yet. This time last year, he hit his stride and was the fastest driver down the stretch, leading the tour in wins.
The purse for Friday's FAST race at Tri-City is as follows: 8600, 3100, 2600, 2000, 1386, 1086, 886, 836, 786, 736, 711, 686, 661, 636, 586, 586, 586, 586, 750, 586, 586, 586. B-main non transfers will get $150 with $100 tow money to any cars who fail to start a main. Heat race winner pay has been increased to $86 each with the rest of the top 4 getting $30, $20 and $10 each thanks to help from Ti22 Performance, JLT Enterprises, All Pro Cylinder Heads and Signs by Trey. Bonus awards for hard charger and hard luck will be provided by Helms & Sons of Findlay, Ohio. Hoosier Racing Tires will give away a free tire certificate to a random driver through a drawing at the driver meeting.
As always, there are no fees to run with FAST. All cars must be on 4 corner Hoosier tires. The right rear must be a D15A, H15 or Medium. Left rears must be the D12A or H12. Wings must be flat top with maximum 2" wicker. Fuel and tires will be available at the track through FAST. Please call ahead to reserve specific chalk marks on tires needed. As a reminder, we will be using the AMB transponders for this event.
