Just your yearly reminder……don’t forget to have your Harley DOT4 brake systems flushed every two years or sooner if the moisture content reaches 3%+. It can be quite dangerous and/or costly if you don’t.

MAN, I chased my tail for hours trying to figure out why the Sportster I just tuned was running WAY too rich at idle. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it right. I took the carb apart multiple times thinking it was something I did wrong or something I missed. My eyesight sucks but after removing the pilot jet for the last time I could plainly tell that the hole was way too big. The stock was a 42 and that’s what was in it. I found another 42 and compared them. Not even close to the same size hole. Someone had drilled out the jet that was in the carb. I installed the correct sized 42 and the bike runs exactly like it should. I’ve seen things like this enough that it never really surprises me but it definitely makes my job harder and ends up costing the customer more money in labor. I fully support people working on their own bikes, but only if they do it right. I mean, they literally sell jets in all sizes. No reason to break out the drill bits man.

I have thought long and hard over the past few weeks about this and have decided to postpone the CHC 20th Anniversary shop party. I have a lot of customers on my waiting list that have been waiting 8-10 weeks+ to get their bikes in the shop. It seems completely unfair to them to take multiple days to prepare and then clean up from the shop party when we could use those days to take care of our customers. I plan on rescheduling in the fall once things slow down a little. Hope you all can understand this decision. 🤘

Thank you to everyone that came out to the CHC Spring Swap Meet today. It was a great turn out and a pleasure to host. I’m grateful to all the vendors and shoppers that showed up before the rain hit.
