Today was a big day for us, we took delivery of our Thermwood 5-axis CNC. It has a 5’x10’ bed with a 24” z. This is something that we have wanted to add to our shops capabilities for quite a while now. It was a bit unexpected but fortunately we were able to make it happen this week. As our workload allows we will get it up and running in the coming weeks/months.

The 12,000lb lift was probably a little overkill for the 1,200lb car but between the lift and the it made this carbon fiber formula repair so much easier to complete. We picked up a couple vyper stools at the last year and they are well worth the money. No longer having the feeling like I’m about to tip over leaning back in the chair working on repairs is amazing.

Since we have slowed down a bit with our Indycar part production for the season, we figured now would be a good time to get started on a shop project we have been wanting to get to. We are going to manufacture a mold and reproduce this vintage Indycar go kart body in pre-preg carbon fiber. I believe this body started life as a 1994 Manco Mini-Kar 713 with the Valvoline livery, then turned Pepsi at some point.

Custom carbon fiber batwing style air cleaner prototype we recently completed. This first part went to a friend of ours and we decided to customize it for him to match the pin stripe lettering on his truck. This lettering was all completed as part of the lay up process in the mold. We will be starting to put the standard version of these into production shortly. We recently completed this 1970 Mongoose fiberglass Indycar nose re-creation. We first produced the high temperature epoxy molds from the original nose and produced this nose using autoclave cured pre-preg fiberglass. Our customer requested we preserve the paint of the hand painted original nose if possible and we were able to do just that. Making supports and flanges that were completely removable without causing damage was quite a time consuming process but the end result was worth it.

Now Hiring multiple positions near Speedway, IN- Carbon Fiber Composite Lay-up Technician and Parts Trimmer/Assembly person.
Experience is not necessary but it is a plus. These are full-time positions 40hrs/wk. 7:30am- 4pm, Monday-Friday. Pay starting between $16-$25/hr based on experience with opportunity to grow (PTO and Vacation after 90 days). We are looking for individuals to grow with our company who are self starting, honest, reliable, responsible and stay on task. You will need a good eye for detail and enjoy working with your hands. You must have reliable transportation. This is inside a climate controlled environment. You must be able occasionally lift and move heavy objects. If you are interested bring your resume or stop in the shop to fill out an application during our normal business hours above.
