1,000 miles out of warranty... but look at those pistons. 🤯
This 2020 Kia Forte failed right after parking. The owner heard one click, assumed a dead starter, and panicked knowing their 100k warranty had just expired.
We tracked it down to a timing chain failure. Look at the borescope footage—those pistons are coated in thick, layered carbon crust.

Because this happened at zero RPMs while parked, THE VALVES SURVIVED the failure. No bent metal, just a chain replacement. But if you aren't doing frequent, high-quality oil changes and carbon cleanings on a MPI engine, your timing chain is on borrowed time!

🚨 Nissan Sentra — New Throttle Body, Same Problem! ❌

Replacing parts doesn’t always fix the problem.

This Nissan Sentra continued experiencing throttle-related trouble codes and limp mode even after installing a new OEM throttle body.

Further electrical diagnostics revealed damaged wiring, connector corrosion, and intermittent circuit issues.

🔧 Nissan Pathfinder V6 — Battery Warning Light ON ⚠️

The alternator was producing charging voltage, but the battery warning light remained illuminated.

Further inspection revealed a broken wire at the alternator electrical connector.

✅ Charging voltage present
✅ Damaged wiring identified

A diagnosed vacuum leak led to removal of the upper and lower intake manifolds.

On modern Benz models (GLC, C-Class, E-Class), the real culprit is usually this tiny internal electronic displacement control valve. It gums up or shorts out, preventing the clutchless compressor from building pressure.

Audi Q5 2.0T — Timing Chain Failure + Spun Bearing 🔧

This one came in with serious engine damage. Timing issues were already present, and the engine also ended up with a spun bearing.

At this point, this isn’t a simple timing-chain repair anymore — the engine has internal bottom-end damage and needs major repair or replacement.

We recently had a 3.3L Dodge Caravan diagnosed with a No Crank / No Start condition. The kicker? The starter was only 2 months old!
During our diagnosis, we found years of heavy, baked-on oil buildup completely burying the starter. While it had perfect power and ground, the internal components were choked out by the oil slick. A quick tap got it firing temporarily, but without fixing the source of the leak, any new starter is on borrowed time.
The Takeaway: Sometimes fixing a symptom (the starter) doesn't fix the disease (the oil leak). Take care of those leaks before they take out your wallet!

Two knock sensor codes at the same time don’t mean you throw two sensors at it. You check what they share and test the circuit before calling the repair.
