There’s a reason original GM interior parts from the 60s and 70s still feel different than many reproduction parts today.
Factory GM armrests used metal reinforcement underneath the padding and vinyl, while many reproduction versions switched to plastic.
Even some reproduction door panel headers went from metal to plastic.
Little details like this are the kind of things survivor car enthusiasts notice immediately. The factory craftsmanship back then was just different.
