Science Thursdays

Science Thursdays Science Thursdays is part of a CCOM Community Enhancement Program featuring music, food, science, medicine and wellness based activities.

Everyone working, learning, and volunteering with UI Health Care is invited to Science Thursdays, a program for the summer months, taking place every Thursday from May through September, 11am to 1pm, in the courtyard between the Medical Education Research Facility (MERF) and Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building (PBDB). Featured will be several food trucks with a diverse array of menu items for

purchase, local musicians, and a science-related activity. A schedule of activities can be found on Facebook and the website.

Join us Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the MERF Courtyard for great food, live music, and community.

Sweet Cacophony
A folk quintet performing blues, popular music, folk, Cajun, Irish, and other genres. Their unique sound features guitars, banjos, harp, ukulele, upright bass, accordions, bodhran, and harmonicas.

Science Thursdays is proud to host the University of Iowa DeGowin Blood Center Blood Drive this Thursday, June 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the MERF Atrium.

❤️ All blood collected stays local and helps patients at UI Health Care and UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

🍴 Donors who schedule an appointment in advance will receive a voucher for lunch at one of the Science Thursdays food trucks.

👕 Successful donors will receive a DeGowin Blood Center t-shirt while supplies last.
