Science Thursdays Science Thursdays is part of a CCOM Community Enhancement Program featuring music, food, science, medicine and wellness based activities.

Everyone working, learning, and volunteering with UI Health Care is invited to Science Thursdays, a program for the summer months, taking place every Thursday from May through September, 11am to 1pm, in the courtyard between the Medical Education Research Facility (MERF) and Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building (PBDB). Featured will be several food trucks with a diverse array of menu items for

purchase, local musicians, and a science-related activity. A schedule of activities can be found on Facebook and the website.

Join us Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the MERF Courtyard for lunch, live music, and community!

🎵 Live Music
Justin Goodchild will be performing acoustic pop and rock favorites.

💙 Activity Booth
Stop by the HCCC & American Cancer Society Hope Lodge booth to learn about the Hope Lodge program, which provides free lodging for cancer patients who travel an hour or more for treatment. They also offer free onsite laundry, an exercise room, kitchen, EMPOWER events, and additional support services. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about American Cancer Society resources and volunteer opportunities.

🩸 Give Blood. Save Lives. Grab Lunch. 🩸

Science Thursdays is proud to host the University of Iowa DeGowin Blood Center Blood Drive this Thursday, June 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the MERF Atrium.

❤️ All blood collected stays local and helps patients at UI Health Care and UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

🍴 Donors who schedule an appointment in advance will receive a voucher for lunch at one of the Science Thursdays food trucks.

👕 Successful donors will receive a DeGowin Blood Center t-shirt while supplies last.
