We had several jobs to complete on Friday, starting with this 2012 Toyota Sienna that needed a new A/C compressor and condenser. We started the day at 6:00 a.m. to make sure every vehicle was completed before closing.

We were so focused on getting the work done efficiently that we missed a few photos we thought we had taken. For this repair, we properly evacuated the refrigerant using our recovery machine and storage tank, replaced the compressor and condenser along with the required seals, pulled a deep vacuum for the specified amount of time, and recharged the system to the correct level.

After the recharge, we verified that both the front and rear A/C systems were blowing cold and operating properly. Another job completed and another customer ready for the heat.

Found out afterwards that it was starting to squeal and such so the replacement was needed anyways.

Decided to do a short video showing the replacement part doing its job on this 2016 Nissan Murano. Pictures will be posted right after this for the way this repair was completed without removing the bumper.

Completed a Ford 4.6L spark plug thread repair on cylinder #4 after finding the threads damaged/stripped.

This repair was done using the proper in-vehicle thread insert repair kit & procedure. The spark plug bore was inspected, cleaned, repaired with the proper thread insert, secured with red Loctite, and the spark plug was torqued to specification. All metal shavings/debris inside the cylinder were blown out, and the engine was manually rotated afterward to confirm there was no binding, interference, or abnormal resistance.

The borescope pictures are a little difficult to see clearly, but the repair procedure was followed to a T from start to finish. Will add better pictures once we pull them from the borescopes SD card.

We are finally getting started on a project we purchased last year: a 1996 GMC C3500HD Cab & Chassis currently equipped with a 6.5L Detroit diesel.

This truck will be converted to a 7.3L IDI diesel with a ZF-5 manual transmission. The 6.5L Detroit still runs strong with zero blow-by, so it will be fully gone through and repurposed into another truck.

The main reason for the conversion is reliability and heavy-hauling capability. The 7.3L IDI is known for being a dependable workhorse and makes comparable power to the 6.5L without a turbo, leaving room for future upgrades.

Once complete, this truck will be set up for serious hauling with a pull-behind hitch system, a 34,000 lb 5th wheel hitch, and a gooseneck adapter to handle multiple trailer hookup styles. It will also be equipped with a 105-gallon diesel auxiliary tank to extend range and support long-haul operations.

The client reported that they had replaced the alternator and battery, but were unable to get the vehicle to start. A brief inspection revealed that the positive side terminal was tightened to its maximum, yet still exhibited movement. By adjusting the terminal to establish sufficient contact, the vehicle was successfully started. The client elected to replace the terminals. Additionally, the old codes were cleared and the steering angle sensor was recalibrated due to the battery disconnection.
