Did your TPMS light show up after a cold morning?

As temperatures drop, tire pressure can drop with them. But that doesn’t mean you should automatically assume the warning light is only because of the weather.

Check the actual pressure and make sure there isn’t a leak or another issue causing it to lose air.

If that TPMS light is staying on, call (931) 863-2888 or click the link in the comments to get it checked.

Turn the heat on and barely getting warm air?

Your heater doesn’t work completely on its own. It relies on heat from the engine and the vehicle’s cooling system, which means poor heater performance can sometimes be connected to coolant level, circulation, or another cooling-system issue.

If the heat isn’t working like it used to, call (931) 863-2888 or click the link in the comments to have us take a look.

BG Services aren’t just for diesel trucks.

Gas-powered cars, trucks, and SUVs have fluids and systems that deal with heat, deposits, moisture, and normal wear over time. Fuel system, transmission, cooling system, and brake fluid services can all play a role in keeping those systems clean and properly maintained.

So, what does each BG Service actually do, and why might your gas vehicle need one?

Two batteries under the hood don’t mean one can pick up all the slack when the other gets weak.

On a diesel with a dual-battery setup, both batteries work together to provide the cranking power that big engine needs. As temperatures drop, a weak battery can become much more noticeable.

Have both checked before the cold mornings arrive. Call (931) 863-2888 or click the link in the comments to schedule.

We’re wrapping up Fall Car Care Month with the four places where your vehicle actually meets the road: your tires.

Tread depth is important because the grooves in your tires help move water away from the contact patch. As tread wears down, the tire has less ability to manage wet road conditions.

But tread depth isn’t the only thing worth checking. Uneven wear can point to alignment or suspension concerns, and improper tire pressure can affect handling, tire wear, and how much of the tire is making proper contact with the road.

Temperatures also affect tire pressure, which is why you may notice a change as our Tennessee mornings get colder.

Going into winter, knowing the actual condition of your tires gives you time to address an issue before you’re depending on them in changing road conditions.

Cold-weather diesel problems usually don’t start with the first freezing morning. Weaknesses can already be there, and colder temperatures simply make them easier to notice.

Battery condition, glow plugs or intake heaters where applicable, fuel delivery, and overall maintenance can all affect how well your diesel starts when temperatures drop.

Get your diesel ready for colder mornings. Call (931) 863-2888 or click the link in the comments to schedule.

You may have heard us mention BG Services, but what are they actually doing for your vehicle?

BG Services are professional preventative maintenance treatments designed to clean and protect important systems before buildup, contamination, and worn fluids have a chance to create bigger problems. They can be used for fuel systems, transmissions, cooling systems, brakes, engines, and more.

Our latest blog explains what BG Services are, how they work for both gas and diesel vehicles, and when they may be worth considering.

An oil change is routine maintenance, but it’s also a good opportunity to keep tabs on the vehicle you drive every day.

While it’s here, we can keep an eye on its overall condition and help you stay ahead of maintenance instead of losing track of what’s coming up.

A battery can make it through the summer without giving you much reason to think about it. Then the first stretch of colder mornings arrives, and suddenly the engine is taking longer to start.

For Fall Car Care Month, that’s why we’re talking about battery health before winter.

Cold temperatures slow the chemical reaction inside a battery while your engine still needs plenty of power to start. If the battery was already losing strength, colder weather can make that weakness much easier to notice.

A slow crank, electrical issues, or a battery that’s several years old are all good reasons to have its condition checked before you’re depending on it on a cold morning.

Not sure how much life your battery has left? Call (931) 863-2888 or click the link in the comments to have us check it.
