Rock County Cycles Company History

Rock County Cycles is one of the largest motorcycle and power sports shops in the Midwest. The shops reputation grew by word of mouth only.

Having grown tired of the constant over-charging and below average service at all the big name shops, as

well as the small local shops, and with the sole intention of being a small hobby shop to work on our own bikes, we found a small two bay building in the back of an industrial area on the outskirts of town. Not long after, friends started coming by to hang out and then started to ask if we could work on their bikes as well. Word spread of our excellent work and the business just started to grow. In the early days, we were not only working on motorcycles, but we were fixing just about anything that came in. What started as a hobby shop and hangout, grew into another even bigger building in Genoa City Wisconsin. Along with more space came more equipment and more customers. As people heard of the old school shop that only had a little sign on a back street , people started to flock in just as before. Not only known for the personalized service but the actual time and care that was given to the work being done. A few years later, at the coaxing and constant urging from customers and friends, we decided to move to a location that was more in the public eye out on the main highway, but still on the outskirts of the town. Lake Geneva, Wisconsin became our new home . Our old two stall shop with one bike lift and a couple tool boxes , had grown into a 4,500 square foot shop complete with a machine shop, parts area, and a dozen or so bike lifts. With the continued growth from word of mouth advertising, our shop has now moved to Janesville, Wisconsin. Today, Rock County Cycles the small shop has grown into a 20,000 square foot one. Our new shop, equipped with a professional service center, showroom , dyno tuning , on site storage and onsite machine shop, is one of the largest in the mid-west but we are still holding true to the idea that was started long ago in that tiny little 2 bay shop in Union Grove, WI.
