🎃☕ Meme Monday: Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice! 🔧😂

Pumpkin spice season is here, folks! Your coffee has it, your candles have it… and now your car apparently wants in on the action. 🍂

Sorry, though—we’re sticking with the regular oil. Your engine needs proper lubrication, not a seasonal latte. ☕🚗

Keep your oil changes on schedule, and your engine will thank you. Bonus points if your coffee makes it to work without spilling in the cupholder. 😂

⚡ FEATURE FRIDAY: The Spookiest Speedster on Earth! 🏎️💀

With Halloween just around the corner, we’re throwing it back to the ultimate gothic hot rod: DRAG-U-LA, Grandpa Munster's iconic coffin car from The Munsters!

Built in 1964 by legendary Hollywood car designer George Barris (alongside artist Tom Daniel) at Barris Kustom Industries, this beast is a masterclass in macabre mechanics.

Iconic Features & Fun Facts:
• ⚰️ An Actual Coffin: The body was secretly bought from a North Hollywood funeral home under the table because buying a coffin without a death certificate was illegal!
• 🎹 Organ Pipes: The exhaust system is made from four functional organ pipes.
• 🪦 The License Plate: A marble tombstone sits on the front, reading: "Born 1367, Died ?"
• 🐎 The Power: It’s not just a prop—it actually drives! It features a real tubular steel dragster chassis packed with a 350-hp Ford Mustang V8 engine.

Because the driver sits completely behind the rear axle with zero windshield, it's definitely not street legal...but it's a permanent icon of custom car history.

🔧🎃 Wrench Wednesday: A Halloween Horror Story… Under the Hood! 👻🛢️

Forget haunted houses. Nothing sends a shiver down a car owner's spine quite like finding oil mixed in the coolant. 😱

This isn't a trick, and unfortunately, there's no treat waiting under that cap!

Your engine's cooling system and lubrication system have two very different jobs. Coolant helps regulate engine temperature, while engine oil lubricates moving parts and helps prevent excessive wear. When those two start mixing, it’s a sign that something may be wrong internally.

Depending on the vehicle and the cause, possibilities can include a failed oil cooler, a damaged gasket, or other internal engine problems. The tricky part? You can't tell the whole story just by looking at the goo.

🕸️ Spooky signs to watch for:

-Oily residue or sludge in the coolant reservoir

-Coolant that looks unusually dirty or contaminated

-Unexplained coolant loss

-Engine overheating

The important part: Don't ignore it or assume it's just a little mess. Oil contamination can affect the cooling system, and the underlying cause needs to be identified before deciding on the repair. If you find oil in your coolant, avoid driving the vehicle until it has been evaluated.

We don't need a crystal ball to solve automotive mysteries. We need proper diagnosis, a little detective work, and the right repair. 🔎🔧

Because the only thing that should be mixing this Halloween is your candy bowl—not your engine fluids! 🍬😂

🎃 Feature Friday: The Classic
The 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88

Not every horror icon has to have a chainsaw, a creepy face, or an evil personality.
Sometimes it's just a big, yellowish-brown Oldsmobile that refuses to die. 😂

Meet “The Classic” — Sam Raimi's 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale.
The car first appeared in Raimi's 1981 horror classic The Evil Dead, where it belongs to Ash Williams, played by Bruce Campbell. Ash and his friends take the Oldsmobile out to an isolated cabin in the woods, where they discover the Necronomicon and accidentally unleash a whole lot of demonic trouble.

And that's where our Halloween connection comes in. 👻

The Oldsmobile isn't just a random movie car. It became one of Sam Raimi's trademarks. The same 1973 Delta 88 has appeared throughout the Evil Dead films and in numerous other Raimi productions. Raimi's family originally owned the car, and it was already being used in some of his early filmmaking before The Evil Dead.

🚗 What was it in real life?
The 1973 Delta 88 was a full-size American cruiser powered by Oldsmobile's Rocket V8. The standard engine was a 350, with a 455 available as an option.

So while Ash's Oldsmobile spends its movie career dealing with Deadites, demons and supernatural chaos, the real car was basically designed to haul people around town in enormous amounts of 1970s comfort.
Which somehow makes it even funnier.

👀 Fun Fact
The car has survived so many cinematic beatings that Bruce Campbell once joked about how difficult it was to get rid of it.
And when Evil Dead II was being filmed, the original car was actually transported from Michigan to North Carolina on a flatbed because it wasn't running.

After more than four decades of horror movies, The Classic is still showing up.
So this Halloween, remember:

You don't need a scary car.
You just need an Oldsmobile that has seen some things. 😂🎃

🔧 Wrench Wednesday: Your Engine Called… It Can’t Breathe! 🍂😂

We’ve seen dirty air filters before, but this one looks like it tried to bring the entire forest along for the ride. 🍁🌳

Your engine needs air to run properly, and the engine air filter’s job is to catch dirt, dust, leaves, and other debris before they make their way into the engine. Over time, all that buildup can restrict airflow and make your engine work harder to get the air it needs.

Signs your air filter might be overdue for a change:
🍂 A visibly dirty or clogged filter
🚗 Reduced engine performance
⛽ Potentially worse fuel economy, depending on the vehicle and driving conditions

The good news? Checking your engine air filter is a simple part of routine maintenance, and replacing it when needed helps keep things breathing easy.

Don't let your air filter turn into a compost bin. 😂 A little maintenance now can help keep your engine happy down the road.

Feature Friday, Halloween Adjacent 👻

1967 Chevrolet Impala — “Baby”
If you've watched Supernatural, you already know this car isn't just transportation.
It's Baby.

The Wi******er brothers' black 1967 Chevrolet Impala became one of the most recognizable cars on television during the show's 15-season run. And there's a pretty good reason the producers chose an Impala: according to creator Eric Kripke, he wanted something with a big trunk—because, well... you can put a body in it. 😳

The real 1967 Impala was available with everything from a 250-cubic-inch six-cylinder to a 427 V8. In Supernatural, Baby is said to have a 327 V8 with a four-barrel carburetor making 275 horsepower. autoevolution
And Baby definitely earned her keep.

Fun fact:
They didn't film 15 seasons with one magical Impala. 😂
The production eventually had nine different 1967 Impalas—hero cars, stunt cars, wrecked cars, and even a specially modified car that could have its roof and doors removed to get camera shots that would otherwise be impossible.

After 327 horsepower, countless monster hunts, several spectacular wrecks, and 15 seasons, Baby became much more than a prop.
She became part of the Wi******er family.
And honestly...

That's one hell of a way to spend 15 seasons. 🖤

🔧 Wrench Wednesday 🔧

This 2014 VW Jetta came in with a complaint that sounds pretty simple:

“My battery keeps going dead.” 🔋

But that's where the diagnosis begins—not where it ends.

We found an abnormal battery draw and started tracing where that electrical current was going after the vehicle was shut down. The culprit?

The cooling fan assembly.

A closer look revealed broken fan fins, and the damaged fan assembly was contributing to the battery draw. So what started as a battery complaint turned out to be a cooling fan problem.

So what does that fan actually do?

The cooling fans help pull air through the radiator and A/C condenser when there isn't enough natural airflow—especially when the vehicle is sitting still or moving slowly. They're an important part of keeping engine temperatures under control and helping the A/C system do its job.

Things to watch for include:

🌡️ Engine temperature running higher than normal
❄️ A/C performance changing while sitting still
🔊 Unusual fan noises or vibration
🔋 A battery that keeps going dead
⚠️ Cooling system or electrical warning lights

And in this case, broken fan fins were a pretty good clue that something wasn't right.

This is a great example of why proper diagnosis matters. If we'd simply replaced the battery, we'd have treated the symptom instead of finding the problem.

The battery wasn't the problem. It was just the one getting blamed for it. 😂

New cooling fan assembly going in, and this Jetta will be ready to stay cool and keep its battery where it belongs—in the car, not on the charger.

There's something ridiculously satisfying about driving down a tree-lined road and getting your own personal leaf parade behind you.

No special effects, just mother nature adding production value. Fall driving just hits different...even though its still summer like today...soon though! 🍁
