On July 4, 2025, a tax law was signed that changes the math on yacht ownership for business owners.
Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, 100% bonus depreciation was permanently restored for qualifying business assets — including vessels placed in a legitimate charter program.
What that means in plain English: a $575,000 sailing yacht placed in our fractional fleet program can generate a first-year business deduction of equal size. For a business owner in the 37% bracket, that's a potential federal tax offset of roughly $210,000 — in year one.
And the boat generates income the entire time.
The Hanse 410 — our flagship offering for the program — generates $104,720 in annual gross membership revenue and pays the owner roughly $35,981 per year in cash revenue share. Net carrying cost above the loan payment: under $5,000 annually.
This isn't a loophole. It's a properly structured charter business. The IRS knows what it looks like. So do most CPAs.
