The Alaska adventure starts long before you cross the border! 🚐🏔️
We love seeing the Alaska Campground Owners Association highlight the independently owned campgrounds along the Alaska and Cassiar Highways. These stops are an important part of the journey, giving travelers a chance to explore small towns, enjoy the scenery, and meet the people who make the road trip so memorable.
As a proud ACOA member, Diamond M Ranch Resort is excited to see more connections being made between campgrounds in Alaska and Canada for the 2027 travel season.
And when you reach the Kenai Peninsula, we’d love to welcome you to the ranch! 🌲🧡
THE BIGGEST MISTAKE PEOPLE MAKE DRIVING TO ALASKA?
They spend months planning Alaska and almost forget about the thousands of miles of adventure getting here! 🇨🇦🇺🇸
We’ve been talking with campground owners along the Alaska Highway and Cassiar Highway lately, and one thing keeps coming up.
Some of the best parts of an Alaska road trip happen before you ever cross the Alaska border!
Think about it.
🏔️ The incredible scenery through northern British Columbia.
🐻 Wildlife along the Alaska Highway.
🌲 Those little family-owned campgrounds where you pull in for one night and wish you’d stayed three.
☕ The small towns, roadside cafés, and people you meet along the way.
And then there’s the Yukon. That’s an adventure all by itself!
That’s exactly why we’re expanding the Alaska Campground Owners Association’s network into Canada for 2027, connecting travelers with some great independently owned campgrounds along the way.
We’re also excited about connecting with Canadian travel organizations and folks who know these northern routes. From Travel Yukon, Super, Natural British Columbia and Canada Travel Website there’s a whole lot of great Canadian travel knowledge out there. The more we work together on both sides of the border, the better the adventure gets for everyone!
Because the Alaska adventure doesn’t start at the border, and the campgrounds helping travelers get here deserve to be part of the journey too!
☕ SO HERE’S OUR SATURDAY MORNING QUESTION!
For those who’ve made the drive, what’s ONE campground in British Columbia or the Yukon you’d absolutely recommend to someone heading to Alaska?
And if you own a campground along the Alaska Highway or Cassiar Highway, jump in and say hello! We’re looking forward to getting to know more of our Canadian neighbors.
👇 Let’s put together some great stops for everyone planning their 2027 adventure!
