In this line of work, I don't mind not having repeat customers for the Total Loss/Appraisal Clause reports. It can be a stressful situation to deal with once, let alone having the same customer within a few months call me to tell me the insurance company is back at their games. In May this customer contacted me on a 2015 Hyundai Elantra that was a total loss and the insurance company was offering a total of $9,460. I inspected, documented, and researched and found this car to be WAY undervalued by their Mitchell Vehicle Valuation Report. I was able to negotiate a settlement offer of $14,000 for this Hyundai owner putting over $4500 back in her pocket.
Unfortunately, in September the same owner called me again to tell me that a family member was involved in an accident in their 2012 Hyundai Elantra and the Insurance Company was once again trying to keep a bunch of that money for themselves. This time we were able to secure an additional $1800 in the settlement after negotiating with the insurance-appointed appraiser.
