Crandon 2025 a last minute decision turned into race prepping at the track. We didn’t make qualifying because of a cracked oil line so we started last off the line in the big race. Made it up to 3rd by cowboy corner lap2 but one of the two fuel pumps quit dropping our horsepower dropping us back to 5th then Blew a front tire and rear rim simultaneously. The rim threw debris into the engine compartment damaging a coolant line and breather hose catching the race car on fire. All said and done we ended up 8th for the big race. Not the result we wanted but we left it all out there but thats Crandon. We’ll be back bigger and better next time. Huge thanks to my racing family for all the help and my wife for everything!

Another Crandon in the books and what a crazy fun time it was. We had some tire issues that held us back but car is dialed is and working great. Huge thanks to all my friends and Ultra4 family for helping out this weekend! Can’t wait to see everyone at the next battle in the rocks.

Ultra4 Update

2023 was a wild ride, unfortunately not the ride we expected. Before the first planned race, a dirt bike incident made it a little difficult to drive, putting a halt to the racing season we hoped for.

Incredibly, the plate and screw came out just a couple weeks before our home race, the Crandon Classic. A stacked field of amazing Ultra4 teams made our first and only 2023 race fun, interesting, and very rewarding. The race almost claimed an engine with the oil pump gear breaking, but still made just enough pressure to get us to the finish line and give the spectators a pretty purple smoke show! All things considered, with a barely healed arm and locked up oil pump, very ecstatic with an 8th place finish and no catastrophic damage.

Though qualified and registered, the decision was made to forgo racing Hammers this year and focus on making the car even more competitive for 2024 race season. With several performance updates and a new look in the works, 2024 race season might be the most exciting one yet!

Eric Blaies will have his ultra 4, 4400, off road race car at FanFest at Fire & Iron Gathering in Clintonville March 25th. Their racing incorporates desert racing and rock crawling at one time.
They are 1 of only 2 teams in Wisconsin, the last 3 years crandon has built a Rock course and had a full ultra 4 short course venue there in the fall.
