Perfect Autumn weather for our Chapter Ride today!
After meeting up at Hells Canyon Harley-Davidson , we headed out on Hwy 12 & then down Hwy 95 South. Our first stop was in Grangeville, a smooth cruise with no delay at construction zone, no wind or smoke.
Our Road Captain Steve was leading us along the Salmon River, alert for any road debris or critters, when he used hand signals to the right roadside and those on CB heard him tell us to watch for that dog. (Yes, you had to be there but it was 😆)
We made our way down the White Bird Grade, across the Time Zone Bridge and into Riggins to Summerville for lunch. Ron departed the group & went to visit friends in the area. We headed back north, without Ron and without any group photo with our banner!
Our ride north took us through White Bird, waving at the locals as we headed up the Old White Bird Grade. There were no crazy cows, just proof that it is open range. After that exhilarating set of switchbacks we met up again in Grangeville, for our group photo, without Ron & his tripod. The last card was drawn for our road game, the winner donated the $ back to the pot for our next ride!
Since the weather was still so great, the group decided to detour around the construction project on 95, and Steve led us off to the Gifford-Rubens Rd or was it the Rubens-Gifford Rd? Whatever, it was a swooping way down off the prairie and back to Hwy 95 and on our way back to the dealership.
