Last week I had a 2018 Kia Optima come in for a misfire. After a little diagnostics I found that an ignition coil was bad, likely from being soaked in oil from a leaking valve cover gasket. I also checked the spark plugs, glad I did. Can you tell which one was misfiring?

Timing chain job on a 2008 mazdaspeed 3. This car came in sounding terrible. I found it was 5.2 quarts low on oil and the timing chain had stretched causing the noise. After installing the replacement parts it's quiet again! This one should be back for some suspension components and some diagnostic for the oil consumption in the future.

A Jeep Compass came in for a stumble/stutter around 60-70 mph. I found the misfire counters increasing when the stumble occurred. The next step was to pull the spark plugs and check the gap. I found the old plugs were sitting at .070", spec is .041". Got new plugs installed after checking the gap. The stumble is gone and ready to go back on the lot!

Recently a 2016 Jeep Wrangler came in for an oil pressure light and related codes. I found that the connector for the oil pressure sensor was shorting the 5 volt reference circuit. This caused a handful of sensors to not read correctly including the crank sensor, throttle position sensor, oil pressure sensor. Picture of the connector in the comments.

Had a 2018 Explorer come in for a dead battery. After charging overnight I was able to run a parasitic draw test. I found an aftermarket remote start module causing excessive amp draw causing the battery to die after a few days.
