Storm prep is always easier, and often more effective, when it’s done ahead of time rather than in a last-minute rush.
An often-overlooked issue is canopy condition. Small signs of wear, loose fabric, or damaged hardware may not seem urgent on a calm day, but strong winds can quickly turn minor problems into costly repairs.
It’s also easy to forget about loose items around the dock. Chairs, coolers, gear, and accessories can become hazards when storms bring high winds and rough water.
And finally, don’t forget your lift position. Raising your watercraft to the proper storm position is one of the simplest steps you can take to help protect it from waves, debris, and changing water conditions.
