Attempted Fuel Theft STOPPED by an attentive customer and fast response from Lodi PD.
As one of our trucking customers was fueling last night, they noticed a suspicious man filling a suspicious truck and called the police. They responded quickly and stopped the individual from leaving. After their initial investigation, Lodi Police called Michael Kludt who showed up to assist with discovering how the theft was done. After viewing video surveillance and inspecting damage to the fuel pump, the man was arrested and booked into Lodi Jail. We want to thank our loyal customer who took the time to call this in and Lodi PD for their fast response to this crime. We ask all customers to be alert when filling and to keep an eye on suspicious activity. Fuel theft will continue to increase with high prices as this occurred last March by very similar individuals at our location. We invested in additional anti-theft devices, which criminals have now found a way to bypass.

A huge thank you to everyone who has called, text and come by to check on us. The outpouring of love from this community has been amazing. Your eyes and ears, and numerous social media platform shares, have led to some excellent leads for law enforcement. One of our customers shared pieces of information with the Lodi Police Department about one of the vehicles used during the theft, this led to the arrest of an individual Friday afternoon in Ripon committing the same crime. We are very fortunate to have a community that is on the lookout and passing information on to multiple law enforcement agencies. The theft of 6500 gallons of fuel is a big hit no one wants, but this will not stop us from doing business the way we have for over 60 years. Our service and prices will remain the same as we look forward to serving Lodi and our customers in surrounding areas.
