The Harpel House by architect John Lautner, originally designed in 1956 with restoration by Mark Haddawy. After years of unsympathetic alterations, the home was meticulously brought back to Lautner’s original vision through a careful restoration process that respected the home’s geometry, materials, and relationship to the surrounding landscape.
Known for approaching cars, furniture, and architecture with the same level of precision, Haddawy’s work reflects a deep understanding of proportion, permanence, and restraint. Every surface, transition, and detail preserved with intention rather than replaced, allowing the house to age honestly while maintaining the integrity of Lautner’s design.
