🚨G OF THE WEEK 🚨

This week’s feature is a true modern classic: the Mercedes-Benz G500 Classic 25.

Built in 2004 to celebrate 25 years of G-Class production, the Classic 25 was a limited-edition model produced in relatively small numbers and is one of the more desirable special editions of the W463 era. Long before the G Wagon became a status symbol, trucks like this represented the platform at its best: understated, capable, and built to go just about anywhere.

Finished in silver over black trim, this example wears a roof rack, ladder, brush guard, and period-correct off-road stance that perfectly complement its expedition roots. While many Gs have spent the last two decades moving toward luxury, the Classic 25 remains closely tied to the utilitarian character that made the platform legendary.

As values continue to climb for special-edition W463s, the Classic 25 has become increasingly sought after among enthusiasts who appreciate the history behind the badge. It represents a unique point in the G-Class timeline, combining the durability and simplicity of the early W463 with the comfort and refinement that would eventually make the model a global icon.

Clearly not a G, but some stuff is too cool not to share. There are four of these. In the whole world. Four. Only 39 total slantbacks were ever released for civilian purchase, and only four of them were white — and we have one 📢 FOR SALE. The numbers are impressive, but they don’t tell the whole story - what makes the Slantback special is a design that feels totally disconnected from modern vehicles and standard appearances. No round edges, no attempt to blend in, and no concern for fuel economy and parking garages. Even 26 years after its release, it still stops people in their tracks. Some Gs are built to look the part. Others are built to disappear over the horizon.

This week’s feature from is a 2005 G55 that’s been transformed into a seriously capable expedition rig. Sitting on Tibus portal axles, a Jack 4” lift, SDi Click shocks, and massive 40” Predator tires, this thing has no shortage of ground clearance or presence.

The build is packed with thoughtful upgrades, including an AFN rear tire swing carrier, onboard air, drawers for gear storage, and a collection of EuroWise components underneath helping tie the whole package together.

The result is a G that looks just as at home crossing open desert as it does parked at the trailhead.

This is a 1983 W460 Doka. A seriously rare bird and one of the coolest G configurations ever built. Double cab. Pickup bed. Old-school utilitarian everything.

2017 G550, white over red, 88k miles. Twin turbo V8, 2” lift, Racelines, 285s, Baja Designs lighting, roof rack, ladder. It’s set up right and drives exactly how it should.

We’ve already gone through it. No rust, solid mechanically, ready to be used. A few small cosmetic flaws here and there, but nothing major, and priced with those things in mind.

Rare ‘92 PUCH 230GE. For sale. Check out the full YouTube video. Link in our story.

This is about as straightforward as a G gets. 44,489 km (≈27k miles), clean title, fully gone through on our end so you can just get in and drive it.

It’s not fast and it isn’t trying to be. 2.3L 4 cyl with 126 hp. But it cruises on the highway, it stops like a modern truck thanks to new brakes, and it’s way easier to live with than you’d expect.

Seating for the whole crew in the back with folding benches, simple interior, and zero of the stuff you don’t need. If you want something you can actually use every day that nobody else has, this is it.
