🔥 Long. Low. LS-powered. 🔥

This LS-swapped Cadillac just rolled into Red’s Speed Shop, and this thing is straight-up cool. That long body, chrome for days, and a healthy cam chop make it impossible not to turn your head when it rolls by.

The owner isn’t building a trailer queen—he’s building a reliable cruiser that can be driven and enjoyed. Next up, we’re giving it a fresh transmission so this classic Cadillac can keep floating down the highway the way it was meant to.

There’s just something about an old-school Cadillac with modern LS power under the hood. Classic luxury, modern reliability, and that unmistakable cammed-up sound.

🎥 Check out the walk-around video and listen to this thing idle.

🚨 CRUISING THE COAST OR BUST UPDATE! 🚨

The Red’s Speed Shop OBS project is finally starting to look like a truck again. 👊

We’ve got the aluminum 5.3 LS sitting between the frame rails, a fresh transmission ready to back it up, a 4/6 drop, and old-school billet wheels squared up all the way around. The goal is simple: make the trip to Cruisin’ The Coast in style.

We’re already running a Holley Terminator Stealth, Holley single-plane carb-style intake, Holley valve covers, and the Holley Muscle Series air cleaner.

Now the question is…

👀 Holley, where y’all at?

The engine bay is wide open right now and this would be the perfect time to test fit a Mid-Mount Accessory Drive system on this build. We’d love to showcase it on our personal shop truck and put some miles on it all the way to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

🔥 BUILT, LIFTED, AND READY TO RUN 🔥

This 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 came to us looking for a little more power than the factory 4.8L could offer. What started as a simple engine upgrade quickly turned into one nasty street and highway truck.

Under the hood is a fully built 5.3L from our friends at Mast Motorsports featuring a Gen 4 crankshaft, Gen 4 rods, forged pistons, Mast Motorsports camshaft, and Mast as-cast cylinder heads. The combination dyno’d at 510 horsepower at the crank and completely woke this truck up.

After driving it, the customer decided he wanted even more. Back into the shop it came for a Holley Hi-Ram intake, 102mm Holley Sniper throttle body, new Holley IAC and TPS sensors, Aeromotive 355 LPH fuel pump, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, and brand-new injectors. While we were there, we ditched the mechanical fan, converted it to a 2005+ radiator, and wired in factory electric fans.

Of course, it also received long tube headers and a Borla Pro XS muffler to let that built 5.3 breathe and sound the way it should.

Sitting on a 6-inch BDS lift with 35s, this Silverado has the stance, the sound, and the power to match. If you see this truck coming down the road, you might want to move over—this thing is looking for open pavement. 😎

P.S. Holley, if y’all are watching, we’re still accepting donations for the “Cruisin’ The Coast Or Bust” OBS project. 😎 We’re also still looking for ideas on accessory drive setups for the build… although a Holley mid-mount kit would sure make that decision easy. 👀

Another LS-swapped OBS one step closer to hitting the streets! 🔥

We just wrapped up installing a brand-new Holley Hi-Ram intake, Holley Sniper 102mm throttle body, Holley tall valve covers, and a fresh set of injectors on this 88-98 Chevy OBS build.

The transformation from the factory truck intake and drive-by-cable throttle body to the Hi-Ram setup completely changed the attitude of this truck. What started as a simple cammed cruiser for a father-and-son project has turned into a mean-sounding street machine. Add in the long tube headers and exhaust upgrades, and this thing sounds like it’s ready to devour pavement.

We’ve still got a few finishing touches before it heads home, but this OBS is coming together exactly how a classic Chevy truck should.

Friday Sound Off! 🔥

This 1996 OBS Chevy is getting closer every day. Fresh 5.3L LS swap, sitting on a 4/6 IHC suspension drop, and finally backing out of the shop under its own power. Nothing fancy—just good old-fashioned V8 sounds and progress being made.

Turn the volume up and let that LS sing.

🚨 CRUISING THE COAST OR BUST! 🚨

The shop is loaded up with LS power and a whole lot of Holley hardware right now! 👀

The engine sitting in front of the Cateye is going into our personal Cruising the Coast project. It’s a 5.7L aluminum LS1 featuring forged pistons, quality internals, and an NK Performance Half Race cam. Right now it’s sporting a Holley single-plane intake, Holley Stealth EFI, and Holley valve covers.

Before final assembly, we’ll be pulling the stock heads and replacing them with a set of Mast Motorsports Black Label heads. The goal isn’t an all-out race truck—it’s a healthy, reliable cruiser that can make the trip from East Texas to Cruising the Coast and back while still sounding mean and putting down respectable power.

To keep the old-school Chevrolet vibe alive, we’re dressing the engine in plenty of Chevrolet Orange while combining it with modern Holley EFI technology.

The engine next to it belongs to a customer OBS project and will be running a Holley Hi-Ram, Holley Sniper throttle body, and Holley Terminator X system.

The truck in the background? Yep… another Holley-powered setup featuring a Holley Hi-Ram, Holley Sniper throttle body, and Holley Terminator X.

Seems like we’ve got a theme going around here. 😎

Now for the big question…

Holley, what accessory drive belongs on this build? 🤔

Do we go with a CVF setup, or do we finish this thing off with a slick Holley Mid-Mount system to match all the Holley hardware already sitting on these projects?

We’ve got Vintage Air planned with an SD7 compressor, Holley EFI systems throughout the shop, and a goal of building a clean, reliable cruiser that’s ready to rack up miles.

Holley has become a huge part of what we do at Red’s Speed Shop. From Terminator X systems to Hi-Rams and Stealth EFI setups, we’ve trusted Holley products on build after build.

What do y’all think? Holley Mid-Mount or something else?

OBS FOR LIFE! 🔥

A few days ago this 1993 Chevrolet regular cab short-bed was sitting out in the weeds. We dragged it home, yanked the cab and bed off, stripped the frame down, and sent it to the sandblaster.

Less than 18 hours later, we got the call — the frame is completely blasted, cleaned, and primed, ready for paint!

This truck is getting the full resto-mod treatment with an LS swap and a ton of attention to detail. It’s amazing how fast an old truck can start coming back to life when you’ve got a vision.

Cruisin’ the Coast or bust! 🌴☀️

Stay tuned… this OBS is going to be a good one.

🔥 PROJECT UPDATE FROM RED’S SPEED SHOP 🔥

This little red single cab is coming together nicely! 👌

We’ve dropped in a freshly rebuilt 6.0L, loaded it up with a healthy cam, aftermarket cylinder heads, a Holley Terminator X system, and a Holley Hi-Ram intake. It’s also getting all brand-new accessories and a set of 2-inch long-tube headers to let this thing breathe.

Right now we’re in the middle of the fun part—finishing up wiring, plumbing, and all the little details that bring a build together. There’s still some work left to do, but this truck is shaping up to be one mean, snappy street truck.

We can’t wait to hear this one fire up for the first time. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to startup and tuning! 👀

Little photo dump on this nasty street truck build we’ve been putting together at Red’s Speed Shop. 👀🔥

This truck started life as a V6, but not anymore. We’re going all in with a fully rebuilt LQ9 setup built for a max-effort 60 build. The motor was completely torn down and rebuilt, with the rings gapped for nitrous down the road because this thing definitely has bigger plans in its future.

Suspension is getting the full treatment with a 4/6 drop, CalTracs traction bars, split mono leafs, and Viking double adjustable rear shocks to help plant the power. We’re also doing a 15-inch rear brake conversion so the customer can squeeze a set of 15x10 Bogarts and drag slicks under the back. 😮‍💨

Up top, we’re running a Holley Hi-Ram intake with a Holley Terminator X Max system, and we’ve already tucked and routed a ton of wiring through the firewall and behind the dash to keep everything as clean as possible. The goal with this build is simple — keep it lightweight, make it hook, and let it eat.

This one’s shaping up to be a serious street/strip truck. What do y’all think this thing is gonna run once it’s finished? 👀👇
