One Guidepoint unit. 21 vehicles recovered.
Earlier this month, a truck rental customer reported a stolen rental truck from a hotel in Montreal,Quebec. Our Customer Support team got to work immediately, tracking the vehicle in real time and coordinating directly with Quebec law enforcement across multiple shifts.
On April 28, the truck was located at a service repair facility and successfully recovered.
But that’s not where the story ends.
Because our unit led law enforcement to that location, Quebec Police were able to recover 20 additional stolen vehicles being stored at the same facility, none of which were equipped with GPS tracking.
One connected vehicle broke open an entire theft operation.
This is what 25+ years of stolen vehicle recovery infrastructure looks like in practice: trained support specialists working around the clock, real-time GPS visibility during active events, and direct law enforcement coordination that delivers results.
Recoveries like this remind us that connected vehicle technology isn’t just about protecting oneasset. It’s about the ripple effect when the right system is in place at the right moment.
To the truck rental team, our Customer Support team (Mary and Michel, outstanding cross-shift work), and Quebec law enforcement: thank you.
