What is a uniside refinish, and why is it so important? 🚗👇

A uniside refinish is required when there is damage to a rear quarter panel. Because the quarter panel, roof rail, and front windshield pillar are all one continuous piece of metal, factory standards require refinishing the entire side of the vehicle as one unbroken piece.

Here is what you need to know about the repair process:

The Insurance Shortcut: Insurance adjusters almost always try to cut costs by writing to "rope off" the quarter glass (pulling the rubber trim back instead of removing the window) and doing a partial refinish with a soft-line blend halfway up the roof.

The Problem: Sectioning clear coat or spraying around roped glass leaves thin tape lines. Over time, heat, rain, and UV rays erode those edges, causing the clear coat to flake and peel right off your vehicle.

The Reality: Refinishing the entire uniside is definitely more expensive - and insurance will often fight it - but it is the only correct way to execute the repair.

Without tape lines or roped seals, a full uniside refinish ensures a seamless, factory-quality finish - and it is the only way a paint job can be backed by a lifetime warranty.

Just picked up your freshly painted car from our shop? Stop before you head to the automatic car wash! 🧽🚗🚫

Even though your paint is baked and cured in our spray booth before delivery, modern clear coat takes 30 to 90 days to fully harden to its ultimate durability.

Here is your Fresh Paint Care Checklist for the first month:

❌ DON'T: Use commercial drive-thru car washes with stiff brushes or high-pressure sprayers.
❌ DON'T: Wax, polish, or apply ceramic coatings for 60 days.
❌ DON'T: Let bird droppings, tree sap, or bug splatters sit on the paint - gently wash them off immediately!

✅ DO: Hand wash your car using cool water, mild automotive soap, and a clean microfiber mitt.
