Changing the oil in your vehicle consistently is more important than you have been told. With thinner oils for fuel economy, change it more often than your vehicle indicates. Stop and go traffic and our temperature swings are hard on oil. That goes for all fluids in your vehicle.

Oil, it’s kind of a loose term. Can be many different things. Cooking oil, tanning oil, etc. we are going to concentrate on the ones in your vehicle. Let’s start with transmission “fluid” it is a lighter weight lubricant. Some manufacturers claim “lifetime fluid”. I wouldn’t trust that. It doesn’t have to be changed as often as engine oil because it’s not treated quite as roughly as motor oil. It doesn’t go through the same introduction of carbon or quite as extreme temperature swings. It is still a fluid used to lubricate metal and fiber parts that break down over time and it has a filter. Not all are easily accessible but it’s there. Have your fluid inspected and replaced as needed. It’s cheaper than a transmission.

Tire wear is a problem. It can have impact on traction in various condition, can change or mask sounds of your vehicle and can make certain situations more hazardous. One way to help with all of it is to have your vehicles tires rotated and make sure your vehicle is properly aligned. We do complete alignments not “toe and go” alignments of a lot of other places.
