Set to wrap up 5th for the auction site Saturday's a freshly serviced example of Ducati’s generation defining icon! This 916 is from '98 and it's available for bid until 2PM PT on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The 916 truly needs no introduction, but we’ll defer to VisorDown for our favorite summation:

“Every once in a while a true classic comes along: James Joyce’s Ulysses, The Beatles’ Revolver, Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Greats one-and-all, to be seen, owned or understood by the discerning and devoted. To the list of timeless classics, we can add Massimo Tamburini’s Ducati 916.”

“Never had a motorcycle provoked such feelings of pure lust or been so coveted. Here was s*x made metal, a Sophia Loren in cro-mo steel and alloy. Slim and curvy, the 916 took the breath away from any angle and redefined how a motorcycle could, and should, look.”

“And it wasn’t just skin deep. The four valves per cylinder desmodromic V-twin measured 916cc and produced 114 crankshaft horsepower, with torque from tickover.”

The seller acquired it from a private seller in Massachusetts.

During their ownership, the seller has covered 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 16,456 miles. In August 2025, Iconic performed maintenance work on the bike.

Modifications:
-SPS bodywork
-Braided brake lines
-Corbin seat
-Aftermarket gas cap
-Gauges

Currently located in Panorama City, CA, this Ducati is offered on a clean New York title.

Bennetts had this to say about Iconic's 4th auction closing Saturday: “The BMW HP4 RACE is as suave as 007, as blinged up as Jay-Z, as dexterous as Fred Astaire, as predictable as 1+1 yet has plenty in reserve to scare if you get complacent..." This one is from '18 with just over 650 miles on the clock, and it's available for bid until 1PM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Given the sheer number of incredible machines one could buy right off of a dealer’s floor over these last few years, it is easy to believe that we will look back on this period of motorcycling and consider it a golden era. Like Ducati’s Desmosedici and Honda’s RC213V-S, the BMW HP4 Race was not built for homologation purposes (although it was rare and limited to just 750 examples) – it was produced to showcase the German manufacturer’s technical abilities and give the general public the opportunity to pilot something very special.

The BMW HP4 Race is not street legal and was never intended to be ridden anywhere other than your favorite circuit and as such it has no lights or reflectors, no bulky number plate holder or any extra street necessities to add weight or get in the way of its main objective: go fast.

The seller acquired it from the original owner in 2022 through an Iconic Motorbikes auction. It is #293/750.

“This example is unusual from all other HP4 race offerings in that it comes with what I believe is essentially every factory accessory, support component, software package, and documentation item ever offered for the HP4 Race platform. Over the past 4+ years I have intentionally sourced and assembled all available OEM HP4 Race components and electronics that could still be located.

The HP4 Race has been maintained as a collector motorcycle that is exercised occasionally rather than stored indefinitely.”

For the seller's extensive modification and spec sheet, feel free to visit the listing on the auction site!

Currently located in Redmond, Oregon, this BMW is offered on a clean California title.

Iconic's 3rd auction set to wrap up for our site Saturday's a 2008 Benelli Tre-K 1130 Amazonas! It has a smooth engine with 112 Nm of torque, handles curves well, and has fantastic dual-purpose tires! This one's from '08 with just under 300 miles on the clock, and it's available for bid until 12PM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Sharing several parallels with the Ducati Multistrada, the Benelli Tre-K was a street-oriented touring bike that as long as you don’t mind having almost non-existent dealer support, a modern Benelli offers an incredible riding experience in a package that makes Ducatis seem run of the mill. While most people think of sport bikes or naked superbikes like the Tornado or TnT, some journalists (like Michael Neeves with MCN) thought the Tre-K, a street-oriented tourer that’s similar to a Multistrada – to be the best new Benelli yet.

Like the Multi, the TRE K is a street-oriented adventure bike, though this is one of the “Amazonas” variants that adds spoked-wheels (with a larger 19″ wheel up front) and wave brake rotors for a slightly more off-road friendly version. It’s one of the more attractive dual-sport packages from the time, and it’ll stand out at a bike night!

The engine produces 123 horsepower and 85 pound feet of torque, and Neeves said it was “10 times more exciting” than the powerplant in the 1100 Multistrada.

Seller states: “This is 1 of 5 Benelli Tre-k 1130’s imported into the US. In my opinion its the Bimota of Adventure bikes. Its raw and noisy, but the 3 cylinder motor sounds like a F1 motor and the gearbox is slick as can be. It looks like nothing else out there."

Modifications:
-Lithium battery
-Touring kit
-Benelli mirrors
-The sale includes 3 ignition keys, owners manual, side cases and service invoices plus other documents

Currently located in Los Angeles, California, this Benelli is offered on a clean Montana title.

2nd ending for Iconic Saturday: with its torquey 1,203cc V-twin, fuel in frame chassis, and unmistakably unconventional engineering, the Buell XB12R Firebolt delivered big American muscle wrapped in one of the most innovative sportbike packages of its era! This one's from '07 and it's available for bid until 11AM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Please Note: This bike is a part of the Northern California Superbike Collection. The anonymous owner is well-known and a long-term friend of both Iconic and Bike-urious. All proceeds will go towards a foundation he and his wife run to further research for sustainable agricultural and agroforestry systems worldwide.

Buell’s XB frame first arrived on the scene in 2002 with the launch of the Firebolt XB9R. The series introduced many of the brand’s innovative technologies, including an industry-first Zero Torsional Load (ZTL) perimeter floating front brake disc, a forged aluminum “fuel in frame” chassis, as well as a swingarm that doubled as an oil reservoir. In order to keep the bike’s mass even closer to the ground, Buell mounted the muffler beneath the engine.

Come 2003, Buell expanded the XB lineup via the Lightning XB12. In keeping with the series’ naming conventions, the model bumped the Harley V-twin’s displacement from 984cc up to 1,203cc. On the road, this meant that it made 103hp and and 84lb-ft of torque. Along with the naked streetfighter ‘S’ (Lightning), Buell also offered the bike in adventure ‘X’ spec (Ulysses) and faired sportbike ‘R’ (Firebolt) guise.

As part of their review, VisorDown said, “so what do all these changes add up to? Well, in my humble opinion these are the bikes that Buell should have launched first. The styling alterations are beside the point, it’s the changes to the motor that make the world of difference.”

Manufactured in April 2007, this example's odometer shows 5,836 miles.

Modifications:
-CRG levers
-Domino grips

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Buell is offered on a clean California title.

First to close up for our auction site Saturday's a 1983 GPz550; the bike that launched the middleweight revolution, bringing racebike power, handling, and tunability to the street! This Kawasaki's available for bid until 10AM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The Kawasaki GPz550 really set the middleweight class alight when it came out in 1982. It was the result of steady development that produced a mid-weight that could give the big boys a good run for their money. They had it pretty much their own way since Honda’s CBX550 wasn’t out and Suzuki admirable 550 wasn’t out and Suzuki’s admirable 550 was not aimed at such a sports market. Obviously the GPz600R has largely replaced it, but the 550 still has plenty of fans who prefer its handling, lines and air-cooled integrity.

Power went up from 54 to a claimed 65bhp, so the move to monoshock was a sensible and successful one. A steady stream of improvements in every department shows what can be done when the manufacturer sticks with one design and refines it rather than chucking it all away and starting with a new configuration. Like a lot of the classics here, it is a blend of many attributes that makes it so good just as much as outright performance.

The odometer shows 5,833 miles and the current owner has put 200 miles on this example. It is US and California emissions compliant.

Seller states: “Carbs were cleaned, kitted, rebuilt and synchronized. Needles shimmed to address EPA mandated lean condition. Left switch pod replaced to fix broken clutch safety interlock switch connection. Oil changed. Dent in tank was removed.”

“Factory fixed needle jets shimmed to address lean condition.” The sale includes 2 ignition keys, the owner’s manual, and service manuals.

Currently located in Seattle, Washington, this Kawasaki is offered on a clean Washington title.

Out latest video that just went live on our YouTube channel is what I call “geeking out on parts!”

One of my favorite pastimes (if you want to call it that) is looking for parts. As a young man I used to love going through “Pick A Part” and finding parts to build my first car…a 1970 Maverick. Loved that rough looking car 🙂.

Our inventory is always changing and now we’ve added new items such as , & more.

Iconic's 4th auction hitting the site today's a homologation-special Ducati that’s guaranteed to find a new home! This 2001 Ducati 748R is available for bid now with NO RESERVE on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Though it first debuted in 1994, the Ducati 748 didn’t come to the United States until 1997. That means we already knew what our European colleagues thought of it in advance – and the reviews were glowing. It was almost identical to the 916, sharing everything from styling to the bottom end of the engine.

The 748R was introduced in 2000 and produced until 2002. With the R designation, you got upgrades galore, including shower injectors, high-lift cams, titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, and a larger carbon fiber airbox to help free all 106 horses from the strengthened engine.

Even still, the 2001 model was the one to get, as that’s when Ducati upgraded the brakes and the suspension to components of a quality befitting a homologation special. In addition to steel braided brake, clutch, and fuel lines, the bike also received a steering damper and fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear.

Worldwide production of the 748R is said to number some 2,610 units total. Of those, 1,756 examples were yellow, and the remaining 854 examples were red. All 185 bikes delivered stateside were yellow.

The odometer shows 5,989 miles. It is production number 839.

Maintenance:
The seller notes that he performed a Desmo service (including belts) on the bike within the last year. In preparation for the listing, the seller had us perform a safety inspection, change the engine oil/filter, and flush the hydraulic fluids.

Modifications:
-Termignoni exhaust
-Battery tender lead
-The sale includes two keys

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Ducati is offered on a clean California title.

This exclusive, track-focused machine, in the most limited numbers ever produced, boasts a bespoke chassis engineered for the circuit, top-of-the-line racing components, and a resolute commitment to the track – embodying the essence of being 100% READY TO RACE.”

With features like quick-release tank and body panels, lightweight Dymag wheels, and Pirelli race slicks, this track-only motorcycle leaves no doubt about its intended purpose.”

This RC 8C is stock and includes the rear wheel stand.

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this KTM is offered on a Bill of Sale only.

Motocross Action Magazine back in '81 had this to say about Iconic's 2nd auction going live: “The Greatest Bike Ever Made.” It's a Maico Mega 2 and it's available for bid now on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Flaunting one of the best dirtbike names ever, the Maico 490 Mega 2 was considered by many to be one of the best open class motorcross bikes ever built. Back in the 80s, there was a lot of prestige associated with riding a Maico, but even this was the cream of the crop. The Mega 2 is still an absolute legend – Maico sold more of this exact model than Honda sold across their entire MX lineup in 1981.

Jody Weisel, one of the nation’s best test riders, once said that the 1981 Maico 490 Mega 2 had the best handling and best powerband in this history of motocross. And that’s coming from someone who’s pretty much ridden everything out there. The 490 put out an absurd 53 horsepower, which was controlled by a wet multi-disc clutch and was transmitted through a five-speed gearbox. This whole incredible package weighed just 244 pounds. If you want to hear more gushing praise for it, read a piece on off-road.com simply entitled, “How Good Was the Maico 490?”

The seller acquired it from a private collector roughly eight years ago. The seller rode it once and then put it away on display in his collection. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

Modifications:
-Clarke fuel tank and petcock
-Lighting kit with enduro fender and lights
-Aftermarket expansion chamber
-V**e ignition
-Acerbis handguards
-Sun Rims
-Works shocks
-The sale includes “two kick start levers; one is original, the other updated aftermarket”

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Maico is offered on a Bill of Sale only.
