FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Track or Treat Spooktacular Race Honoring Paul Hawes This Saturday

MARYSVILLE, Calif., October 20, 2026โ€ฆMarysville Raceway will host the annual Paul Hawes Memorial Spooktacular this Saturday night, October 24. This race pays tribute to former Marysville Raceway promoter Paul Hawes. Halloween kicks off a week early at Marysville Raceway. Kids are encouraged to wear their costumes and come down onto the track at intermission to do some โ€œTrack or Treatโ€ with the drivers and cars. Drivers, teams, and car owners are encouraged to bring candy to help support the โ€œTrack n Trick.โ€

Winged 360 sprint cars will race for a staggering $2500 to win. The Crate Sprints are looking to steal the show as they are racing for a $600 pay day to win. The Wingless Sprints pay will be determined on car count for this Saturday night. The fourth and final division are the BCRA Lightning Sprint. This race will decide a season long championship. Just two points separate Greg Dennett and Matt Land for the championship.

Plenty of things to do on this final night of the season at Marysville Raceway. Bring the kids in their costumes and listen to spooky music, track or treat, and make lasting memories as a family. With this being the final race of the season, the staff at Marysville Raceway are discounting everything inside and around their T-shirt trailer and all kinds of novelty items. โ€œEverything must goโ€ is what the message will be this Saturday night.

Marysville Raceway is honored to support the Hawes family this Saturday night. Thanks to Paulโ€™s son Jeremy and H&H Trenching, a large amount of sponsorship money will be distributed to many of the top finishing drivers this Saturday night. It is an honor to still remember Paul and his family for all they did for Marysville Raceway. Having his son Jeremy still offering financial support is something that all drivers should be thankful for.

Pit gate is slated to open at 2pm. Front gate will open at 5pm. Adult general admission is $20 (ages 16-61), Juniors and Seniors $17 (ages 12-15 / 62+), and kids are $10 (ages 6-11). Military with ID card is $17. Children 5 and under are FREE. Parking is also FREE for grandstand attendees.

Exciting, grass roots dirt track racing is on display this Saturday night.

On-line tickets can be purchased on-line at https://www.eventsprout.com/event/marysville-raceway-2026

Saturday nights race will be streamed by NorCalSpeed.tv.

PRESS RELEASE-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stock Cars Invade Marysville

(Marysville, CA 9/21/26) Once a year Marysville Raceway dedicates a late season event to California dirt stock car racing. Called the Taxicab challenge, it features five divisions of stock cars tackling the ยผ mile clay oval located just off Simpson Lane in Marysville. The 70 cars expected will bring the raceway to life Saturday night October 3, 2026.

The Xtreme Late Model series will headline the show. They also have a race in March at the track and the division was once part of the regular lineup at the Speedway. Top local runners include former Champion Matt Micheli from nearby Live Oak and Yuba Cities Rod Oliver. Traveler Shawn DeForest has won this race two years in a row.

Pro stocks, which are a melting pot for area track super and street stocks, are on the schedule along with the Placerville Speedway Pure stocks. Petalumaโ€™s Steve Studebaker out raced Auburnโ€™s Richard Brace Jr. and Sutter driver Corey Hall in the Pro stocks portion of the 2024 Taxicab. Last year local two time track champion Jacob Johnson of Yuba City out ran veterans Phil Marino and Mike Learn.

This is the single event for the pure stocks at the speedway and Auburnโ€™s Wayne Trimble has been the frontrunner the last two years. Other front runners include Nick Baldwin and Orville Owens and Michael Murphy.

Hobby stocks just completed their 2026 championship battle at Marysville with Yuba City driver Kyle Cheney landing on top. Cheney was challenged all year by local drivers Jason Clayton Jr. and Howard Law. But last year Phillip Shelby of Oliverhurst came home the winner. Track rules will apply to this division.

Marysville Raceway is located just off Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain. The ยผ mile clay oval has operated for more the 60 years at this location.

The Pit gate will open at 3 P.M. on Oct. 3. The front gate and grandstand will open at 5 P.M. Racing is planned for 6:30. Tickets will be sold at the gate or may be obtained online through the track website at www.marysvilleraceway.com. Online tickets are discounted. Adult tickets at the gate will be $18, Junior and seniors are $16, kids are $8. Under 5 are free. Additional information may be obtained at 530-350-7275 or at www.marysvilleraceway.com. (END)
