CALLER: Ma’am… the sun has officially declared war on Mississippi.

DISPATCH: Sir, what’s happening?

CALLER: I opened my truck door and got hit with heat so hard I thought I’d walked into the gates of the afterlife.

DISPATCH: Is anyone injured?

CALLER: My sweet tea is warm. Does that count?

DISPATCH: Sir…

CALLER: My ice melted before I got home. I bought a bag five minutes ago. FIVE MINUTES.

DISPATCH: Have you tried staying inside?

CALLER: Ma’am, folks still need ice! Coolers are empty, cookouts are happenin’, and my drinks are sweatin’ harder than I am.
