🔧 ENGINE BUILDS — THERE’S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REPLACING PARTS AND BUILDING AN ENGINE.
At Precision Worx, an engine rebuild isn’t just about slapping in a new piston, throwing it back together, and calling it good.
It’s about knowing exactly what you’re working with, understanding why components wear, and making sure everything is right before it goes back together.
Every engine that comes across our bench gets the attention it deserves.
🔧 Complete Teardown – Engines are carefully disassembled, with components examined for signs of abnormal wear, fatigue, damage, or potential failure.
🔧 Thorough Cleaning – Components are properly cleaned and prepared for inspection. You can’t accurately inspect or measure what you can’t see.
🔧 Precision Measurements – Critical engine components are measured, documented, and evaluated. Cylinder dimensions, piston-to-wall clearance, ring end gaps, crankshaft condition, bearing clearances, valve clearances, and other applicable specifications are checked.
🔧 Wear Limit Verification – Measurements are compared against manufacturer specifications and service limits. Just because a part looks good doesn’t mean it’s within spec.
🔧 Engine History & Documentation – Engine hours, component measurements, clearances, and service information are recorded. This gives us a reference point for future maintenance, rebuild intervals, and identifying wear patterns over time.
🔧 Built to Spec — Not Guesswork – Engines are reassembled using manufacturer specifications along with our own experience-based clearance and tolerance targets where appropriate for the application.
Because there’s a big difference between an engine that simply runs and an engine that’s been properly built.
Anyone can order parts. Anyone can replace a piston.
But understanding how those components work together, recognizing wear patterns, knowing what measurements matter, and setting clearances for the demands of the rider and machine?
That’s where experience makes the difference.
Whether it’s a routine top-end service or a complete engine rebuild, our goal isn’t simply to get your bike running again.
It’s to build an engine we have confidence in — one that’s properly inspected, accurately measured, carefully assembled, and ready to perform.
We don’t believe in guessing, cutting corners, or assuming something is good enough.
Measure it. Document it. Verify it. Build it right.
