It’s Monte Monday again! Dave is back to work on the 1981 Monte Carlo, and this week we are still working in the outer wheelwell area of the quarters! Now that both of the interior quarters have had time to sit in the Klean Strip, Dave can do a final clean before getting some protectant paint on them. He uses LA's Totally Awesome cleaner from Dollar General to spray everything down and get it ready for paint. After spraying both sides, he lets the cleaner sit before scuffing everything with a red scuff pad. Dave makes sure to get into all the nooks and crannies throughout the interior quarter panels so the paint has something to bite into. Once everything is cleaned and scuffed, Dave uses Rust Oleum Black 2 in 1 to paint the interior of both quarter panels. There’s still a lot more to tackle on the Monte, so stay tuned to see what Dave gets into next Monday!

Dave and Colleen from Half Dozen Customs made the trip to Rochester, Indiana to check out Fulton County’s 30th Annual Red Hot Car Show in downtown Rochester, and it did not disappoint. The streets were lined with an awesome mix of classic and custom cars, and the laid back atmosphere made it the perfect way to spend the day. A little over 535 cars were registered that day, and the Colorado happened to take 3rd in its class. Thanks to Dave for all his hard work and to Southwest Fix for making sure it rode straight and had some pretty rims and tires. Southwest Fix is a locally owned and operated mechanic shop in Warsaw, Indiana. They service anything with a motor, and no job is too small or too big. The weather held up beautifully, and between the cars, the people, and the smell of chili from the annual Cook Off, it was a great weekend full of fun, friends, and horsepower. The show also included a swap meet, giving everyone another reason to spend the day checking out everything downtown had to offer. We want to thank the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce for putting on such a great event, along with all of the volunteers, judges, parking team, and everyone who helped make the car show registration process run smoothly. We hope you enjoy the video. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more car shows, builds, and behind the scenes with Half Dozen Customs.
