Did you Know...?

Your BMW may need to be told when it gets a new battery.

On BMWs equipped with intelligent battery management, the vehicle monitors the battery and adjusts the alternator’s charging profile. That strategy accounts for factors such as battery condition, temperature, and charge level.

As a battery ages, its ability to accept and hold a charge changes, and the charging system adapts.

Registering a replacement battery tells the vehicle a new one has been installed and resets its stored battery history. This allows the system to manage charging for the new battery. Skipping this step can leave it working with information from the old battery, potentially contributing to improper charging and reduced battery life.

At Ultimate Bimmer Services, we check the battery and electrical system, replace the battery when needed, and register the replacement where applicable.
