Good morning. I think this is a good sign the summer weather is on the way. Former Lt. Colonel Ron Guilmette’s antique MSP cruiser is out ready for all the car shows and parades for the 250th anniversary of our nation. Thanks for sharing it with us Ronnie and I hope we have good weather going forward.

Congratulations to the Cyr family who swept up at the Championship meet on Monday for greater Lawrence tech. Haleigh topped the field in high jump, long jump and a team relay. Her coach once again gave great advice when needed. Congratulations to Charlie Saindon’s son David for his accomplishments in shot put and discus. Great job guys!!!

Methuen lost a great firefighter fighter today after a long battle with cancer. Jimmy was a Lt and union president for MFD. Jimmy Mac was always helping toy drives for the Arlington district, Christmas parties for firefighters kids. Dinners for the elderly at the senior center and he could always get a ton of guys to follow his lead because he was a genuine guy. I think that goodness came from his south Lawrence upbringing and his long list of devoted friends. This was evident by the crowds of people that attended parties for him. Rest easy Jimmy Mac you did your time and service to the community hopefully your successors carry on in the same great way you did.

Bill Chase face is all over Merrimack valley on billboards promoting his business high-tech windows doors and siding. Congratulations to high tech for their expansion. We were jealous of all the billboards so we decided to get one on our shop. We’ve got Methuen and Salisbury covered. Harrison and Ray just finished installing. Congratulations to our award winning battery tech for becoming an American citizen yesterday in Worcester, MA. Danny has been working on his citizenship for years and is very excited about this accomplishment. We are having a little party for him and all he wants is some chicken and spicy fries. Sounds like he is off to a good start on his first day as an American Citizen!!! Please congratulate him when you see him.

Another great family friend is being recognized for her athleticism in 2 sports. Congratulations to Kat Lefebre for being inducted into MHS hall of fame this week. She comes from a great family on both sides. The Carrolls and the Lefebre both legendary Lawrence families. Her father and grandfather both great lancers are in LHS hall for their accomplishments. Bobby loved coaching her and going all over New England to watch her play hockey and softball. He will be watching from up high proud as a peacock. I hope the whole clan has a great time Friday night.

Congratulations to a great friend of ours Chuck Adamopoulos for being inducted into the Massachusetts State Coaches Hall of Fame. Chuck was very successful on the sideline for many years. He was well respected amongst area coaches as well as statewide. He definitely didn’t get the nod for his wardrobe selection, as a matter of fact I think bill belicheck got the torn hoody style from Chuck. He also had a great rapport with officials as well. He could blow up at them on one play and two minutes later walk off the field with them joking and laughing. Luckily they scheduled the celebration when there was no horse races going on because that is Chuck’s second love. Congratulations buddy!

Twenty three years ago today we lost our father, grandfather, friend and the man who started it all, Bob Sheehan. We are taking time today to remember him. Bob was a mechanic, businessman and family man all in one. Not a day goes by that we don’t remember the lessons he taught us and feel the influence he had in our lives. If he were still with us he would send Bob Proctor and Tiger down to Lawton’s to get hot dogs for everyone to celebrate. Keep an eye over us and rest in peace.

We are wrapping up fundraising for Neil’s Boston Marathon fundraiser for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Nora Carroll and Mike Cyr presented a check for $750 to put the amount raised at nearly $15,000. Neil is a member of the Mass State Police Marathon Team and Cops for Kids with Cancer is their charity. Thank you everyone for sponsoring and making this the best fundraising year yet.
