Ch*****ne Yellow and Leaf Green. Two very different 911s that happen to complement each other particularly well.
The Ch*****ne Yellow car is a 1965 911, chassis 301379, completed on May 31, 1965 and delivered through Porsche Cars Pacific in Burlingame, California. An early short-wheelbase example retaining its 2.0-liter flat-six, it spent time in Sweden and the Netherlands before undergoing an extensive restoration between 2016 and 2023 and returning to the U.S. in 2024. Green-face gauges, a wood-rim steering wheel and the simplicity of the earliest 911s define the experience.
Alongside it, the Leaf Green car takes the idea in a very different direction. Beginning life as a 1978 911 SC, it was stripped to a bare tub and rebuilt as a ’73 RSR homage, with the fabrication, metalwork and paint completed by Automobile Associates. Its 964-based 3.8L features Rasant individual throttle bodies, GT3 and Pankl internals and DTA engine management, paired with a short-bellhousing G50/03, 997 GT3 Cup L*D, MCS 2WNR dampers and 930 brakes. Just 800 miles have been covered since completion.
One represents the 911 close to where the story began. The other is a much more visceral interpretation of what an early 911 can become. Together, Ch*****ne Yellow and Leaf Green make a pretty convincing case.
