Oil finishes bring out a warm, natural look and are easy to touch up, but they need re-oiling more often. Spar varnish holds up to sun and weather and gives a deeper shine.

Whatever you use, look for UV protection if she'll spend time outside at shows.

Apply thin coats, let each one fully cure, and lightly scuff between coats for the best result.
