🧪 Myth vs fact: "Brake fluid lasts forever."
Busted. Brake fluid slowly soaks up moisture from the air. Water lowers its boiling point, so old fluid can boil under hard braking, and that's when a pedal can start to feel soft. It can also corrode parts inside the brake system.
Many carmakers call for fresh brake fluid every 2 to 3 years. Your owner's manual has the exact number for your car.
