Beginning November 13th on the South Carolina coast, the “Holiday Festival of Lights” at James Island County Park in Charleston, SC returns for its 37th year, bringing one of the Southeast’s most beautiful Christmas light experiences! Running nightly through December 31st, this holiday tradition features a three-mile drive through more than 750 glowing displays made up of millions of colorful Christmas lights. You'll pass everything from festive holiday scenes to playful light displays before parking to explore the park's Christmas attractions on foot. One of the biggest highlights is the incredible 50-ton holiday sand sculpture, along with a towering Christmas tree and beautifully decorated areas filled with lights. Families can climb aboard the Festival Express train, ride an old-fashioned carousel, or try the climbing wall. You can also visit festive gift shops, browse Christmas ornaments, and roast marshmallows over open fires while enjoying hot chocolate, kettle corn, pretzels, and other holiday treats. Santa and his elves will be visiting nightly through December 23rd, with special entertainment offered on select evenings. The festival is open from 5:30 to 10 p.m., with a fireworks celebration on New Year's Eve!

When it’s too wet to get the campers, but you need the generators. Rain or shine, the crowd always shows up.
