I’ve been pivoting from the usual before‑and‑after detailing videos to mixing in real‑life comedy from my day‑to‑day detailing experiences — and honestly, the response has shocked me. Turns out making people laugh brings in just as much business as showing a perfect interior transformation.

Let’s be real: there are thousands of detailing videos out there doing the same thing — a maintenance wash on a car that’s already clean, foam, rinse, dry, done. But the content I’m making now comes straight from 12 years of actual on‑site experiences, and this one is a classic.

Whenever I show up to detail a family vehicle, the kids come outside. And instead of playing, running around, or doing kid things… they stand at the door of the car and stare at me. No blinking. No talking. No moving. Just pure, silent observation. For hours.

And trust me — I used to work with kids as a pediatric dental assistant, so I understand curiosity. But I can count on both hands the number of times a kid has watched me for an entire detail like a statue. I’ve even had full families pull out chairs and watch me for three hours straight while detailing their car and couldn't even take a lunch break in peace because i guess they would have watched that too.

It’s awkward. It’s hilarious. And it’s 100% real detailing life.

Mobile Detailing Is Better Than Going To The Gym.

It's one of many physically intense outdoor jobs that requires you to take care of yourself especially in the summer months and as a mobile detailer that can work up to 13 hours- i can rack up about 30,000 steps which is 1500+ calories being burned off.

If you are on the heavier side and you start doing mobile detailing, i can guarantee in about 6 months you will have a transformation.

Through the years i have learned to gauge who is more likely to book a service with my detailing business and who is not. This post is not to be biased but is solely based on experience. During my operations i occassionally get a few people to walk over to me and ask how much the service is. Some ask for a business card and some just take a picture of my van.

Many of those people that ask how much the service is and i give a range never end up becoming a customer and that is either because of misunderstanding that they are thinking that i am just doing a general car wash and even when i explain to them i am performing a 5 hour full detailing service iy dyill judy ford noy drrm justified to them.

Not everybody is the right fit for your business but based on my experience. Those that have approached me asking for a business card and didn't bother to ask about pricing were those that became a customer.

Mobile detailing involves a lot of hours of being on your feet, heavy lifting, bending down and uncomfortable positions. Not to mention, in the summer, months can be brutal on your body. For me, mobile detailing has become a lifestyle. And in this lifestyle I have to make sure that I eat healthy to keep me fueled
