HEADS UP! US-69 WEEKEND CLOSURE – MUSKOGEE, OK

Construction is getting underway on the US-69 project in Muskogee, beginning with the removal of the existing trail bridge north of Border Ave. This closure marks the start of construction on the US-69 project.

⚫ Start Date: Friday, October 30th, at 7:00 p.m.
⚫ Reopens: Monday, November 2nd, at 5:00 a.m.

This weekend closure will allow crews to demolish and remove the old railroad bridge, which currently serves as part of the Centennial Trail System in Muskogee. The new Centennial Trail pedestrian bridge will increase the vertical height between the highway and the bridge, allowing more oversized loads to remain on US-69 rather than detouring through downtown Muskogee.

What to Expect:
🚧Detour Route: Highway traffic will be routed along SH-165 and US-62. Motorists should follow posted detour signs and plan for additional travel time.
⚠️Overnight Construction Noise: Residents and businesses in the surrounding area should expect construction equipment and demolition noise throughout the night during the closure.
⚠️Trail Access: The affected section of the Centennial Trail System will remain closed until further notice.
