After many hours of sanding primer, the panel delivery is painted. Our customer chose this beautiful color, Arabian Sand. It will be very classy with the black fenders.

First fit of the hood. What, you’re not gonna fight me even a little bit? Ha. Needs some minor gap tweaks, but happy with what I have to work with.

We’re mocking up the fenders today on the panel delivery. When we got the body, the rear fender wells had been cut out to fit a AA fender which has a larger radius. I will need to fill that gap for the standard fender. The plan is to replace the entire lower metal panel. It sounds like a lot of work, but not as much work as using the existing panel which is very rippled. Also, I don’t want to be welding a patch in around all that wood. Thanks for following along on this project!

Freshened up the inside of the panel delivery today. It was pretty rough so I sanded it smooth and laid down some urethane clear coat.

We’re back into the groove again after the MARC National Model A meet in French Lick. What a whirlwind of a week! The venue was absolutely amazing! Seminars, judging, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting new friends. What a great time. Our customers all brought home some special hardware. 1929 Special Coupe received 483 points and a Henry Ford award. The 1931 Four Door ‘Blindback’ received 479 points and also a Henry Ford award. And the 1929 Cabriolet received 497 points and a Master Restoration award. Congratulations to our customers! Thank you for trusting us with your Model As!

Fitting the rear doors and latch.

The woodworker did an amazing job on replicating the body on this panel delivery. However, all the fasteners were Phillips head. No vehicle leaves our shop with Phillips head screws. Swapped out a hundred or more today. All the brackets and floor screws were corrected.
