Thank you Tour of Destruction ! Looking forward to next time!
These photos tell a story.
Many fans who joined us over the weekend may not realize what they were part of. Not only was this the first-ever Tour of Destruction event at Newport Speedway, but it was also the first true heartbeat of a historic track coming back to life.
Just three years ago, the speedway sat idle, worn down by time and the elements. Seeing the progress and dedication that has gone into bringing this facility back has been incredible, and we are truly grateful to have played a role in that journey.
With any new beginning comes challenges, lessons, and opportunities to improve. We are already hard at work to make the next year’s event even better.
This photo on the right was taken at 7:00 PM from the Turn 4 trackside area. You’ll notice there is still seating available. We understand that some fans were turned away due to the access road being unexpectedly shut down and traffic complications. Unfortunately, several decisions were made without notification, and the issue did not come to our attention until it was too late to correct in the moment. We are committed to ensuring this does not happen again.
For our next event, we will be implementing improvements, including free parking to help ease traffic flow, earlier parking access, and closer coordination with traffic control to create a smoother experience for everyone.
We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and excitement from fans who were thrilled to finally experience this event in their area. More than anything, we want to reflect on the energy and noise everyone brought this past weekend — because for nearly a decade, this track sat quiet.
We look forward to welcoming back returning fans and meeting many new faces next year.
Thank you to Newport Speedway and to everyone who played a part in making this event possible. Message or Email us for support.
