To finish first, you first must finish. 🏁

Enduro racing made its long-awaited return to the famed third-mile clay oval at Santa Maria Speedway with the inaugural Central Coast 300 last night, and it did not disappoint!

It was a night of thrilling action as drivers and cars were put to the ultimate test of endurance. When the dirt settled after 300 laps, it was Scott Turner who outlasted the competition, earning his first victory of the 2026 season at SMS. Between race winnings and bonus money, Turner walked away with just shy of $4,000!

We are incredibly thankful for the sponsors who continue to support Santa Maria Speedway, along with the additional sponsors who stepped up to help make the vision of bringing enduro racing back to our track a reality. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’ll take a weekend off before returning to racing action on Friday, November 6th, featuring the Ultimate Sprint Car Series, IMCA Northern SportMods, and Mini Stocks.

CENTRAL COAST 300 – SATURDAY RACE DAY DETAILS & REMINDERS!

The Inaugural Central Coast 300 is almost here! All drivers, pit crews, and scorers participating in Saturday’s race, October 24th, please review the following schedule and important race-day procedures.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH – RACE DAY SCHEDULE

* 1:00 PM – Pit Gates Open
* 3:00 PM – Registration Opens
* 4:00 PM – Mandatory Driver’s Meeting
* 5:00 PM – Fan Zone Trick-or-Treating
* 5:30 PM – Scorer’s Meeting (Grandstands)
* 5:45 PM – Pit Crews to Hot Lane / Cars to Track
* 6:00 PM – Racing Begins! 🏁

IMPORTANT RACE DAY REMINDERS

REGISTRATION: Have your transponder (unless renting) and designated scorer’s name ready at check-in. Transponder rentals will be available.

MANDATORY DRIVER’S MEETING: 4 PM at the registration trailer. All drivers must attend and bring their Raceceiver for testing. Channel: 454.0000

SCORING: Every driver MUST have their own scorer and a transponder. Scorer’s meeting is at 5:30 PM in the grandstands. Assistance and training will be available. Scoring sheets are provided; bring a clipboard and PENS ONLY — no pencils! Your scorer is essential for lap verification if your transponder fails.

HOT LANE & RACE PROCEDURES: Once cars enter the racetrack, they cannot leave until the race is over. Pit crews may enter at 5:45 PM and must be prepared with all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for the 300-lap race.

FUEL BREAKS: Two scheduled 15-minute breaks at laps 100 and 200 — FUEL ONLY.

PAYOUTS: All race winnings will be paid in CASH at the registration booth following the event.

FAN ZONE TRICK-OR-TREATING: Drivers are encouraged to participate at 5 PM! Bring candy, hero cards, or goodies to share with our young race fans!

🏁 RACE DAY RESCHEDULED 🏁

Arrow Plumbing Night, originally set for Saturday, October 17th, has been moved because of a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff. We worked all morning on generators and backup power, but without a guarantee of lights, we can’t safely run the show.

All racing classes scheduled for Saturday, October 17th are canceled.

THE GOOD NEWS? We’re turning it into a TWO-NIGHT, TWO-TRACK WEEKEND with Ventura Raceway!

Arrow Plumbing Night will not be held on November 6th and will be rescheduled for a future date.
