Quilts by Kristy provides professional longarm quilting with Gammill Statler Stitchers.

I began Quilts by Kristy in 2010 with the ultimate goal of being a stay-at-home parent while still providing an income for our family. What started as a small endeavor has grown into a wonderfully busy business though a lot of hard work and the recommendations of my loyal clients. Each day I am able to work on beautiful quilts and return them to clients who are always so happy to see the finished product; I couldn't ask for a better job! Quilts by Kristy provides longarm quilting services on two Gammill Statler Stitchers. This means that patterns are digital, and therefore the quality of my quilting is very consistent. As a science teacher by trade, I am very meticulous, and that is reflected in my work. Conversely, I rarely do freehand work because I dislike the unpredictability of the stitching. Both of my machines can fit quilts with a width of 120" or less (there is no limit to the length). At this point, I am no longer creating any T-shirt quilts or doing custom quilting; these types of services require too much time away from my family. Elena made this beautiful quilt to celebrate a friend’s retirement! I love the interlocking design and the way the different fabrics come together to create such an interesting pattern. The white background gives the blocks plenty of room to stand out and really shows off the piecing.

We quilted it in Sound Waves, with gently curving lines that add movement and contrast nicely with the geometric design. Elena chose soft white minky for the backing, making this a wonderfully cozy quilt for her friend to enjoy in retirement!

Donna brought me three beautiful quilts, all with such different personalities!

The first is Buckeye Beauty, made from a kit purchased at a local quilt shop. I love the balance of light and dark colors, and it’s especially cool the way the piecing creates diagonal movement across the quilt. We quilted it in Botanical Blossoms, adding a variety of flowers that complement the floral fabrics.

For her second quilt, Donna purchased a fabric bundle from the same quilt shop but designed the pattern herself! The colorful patchwork surrounds an adorable panel of chickens and chicks. We quilted it in Bubble Wrap, choosing the pattern to give the appearance of chicken wire. It’s such fun way to tie the quilting into the theme.

The third quilt is headed to Donna’s great-granddaughter. It features sweet cupcake prints surrounded by bright pink, yellow, and blue strips and cheerful polka dots. We quilted it in Cupcakes, carrying the theme right into the stitching with little cupcakes and playful swirls. What a fun gift!

Gerine made this lovely Sweet as Honey quilt from the 2022 Fat Quarter Monthly Box. The combination of colors is so pretty, especially with all the little daisies, honeycombs, and bee-themed prints. I love how the different fabric combinations give each block its own look while keeping the whole quilt beautifully coordinated.

We quilted it in Happy Flowers using pale teal thread. The playful flowers and looping vines add a wonderful softness to the geometric blocks and tie in nicely with the floral fabrics. And that navy daisy backing is such a fun finishing touch!

Sue makes all of her quilts to give away to members of her church and community, and she always includes a scripture verse on the back. I love that each quilt carries such a thoughtful message along with it!

Her first quilt features black-and-white fish prints framed with black sashing and a soft gray floral border. We quilted it in Circle Meander, adding lots of overlapping circles that feel a bit like bubbles.

The second quilt is a Bargello full of vibrant purple, lime green, and blue batiks. We quilted it in Coquina, with flowing curves that contrast nicely with all those little straight-edged pieces.

What a meaningful way to share her love of quilting with the people around her!

Tammy brought me these two quilts, and they’re very different projects!

The first is a huge California King quilt; it’s so big that I had to fold it in half just to photograph it! I love the bright combination of bright colors with a few bold florals mixed in. We quilted it in Tammy’s favorite design, a classic stipple, which adds lots of texture across all those colorful squares.

Her second quilt is extra special because her seven-year-old granddaughter helped piece the blocks! It’s such a fun way to use a variety of fabric scraps, with little strips of color framed by a pretty cream floral background. We used stipple quilting on this one, too, giving it a lovely crinkly texture while letting all those little fabric combinations shine. What a sweet project for a grandmother and granddaughter to work on together!

Natalie made these three quilts, and they couldn’t be more different from one another!

The first has such a cool dimensional illusion! The way the fabrics are arranged makes the blocks look like they’re made of stacked cubes, and I love the mix of rich jewel tones and floral prints. We quilted it in Knit One Purl Two, adding soft, flowing curves that contrast nicely with all those sharp angles.

Her second quilt features a beautiful progression of colors from green and turquoise through blue and purple to black. Some of the star fabrics even glow in the dark! We quilted it in Simply Stars, carrying the star theme into the quilting and adding another layer of interest to the geometric piecing.

The third quilt features Tula Pink fabrics, including her bold Tent Stripe collection. I love how the colorful stripes, dots, and whimsical prints play against one another in this simple patchwork layout. We quilted it in Ginger Flower, adding a fun floral design that softens all those straight lines.

Paula has been busy with these four quilts, covering several seasons and styles!

Her fall quilt features patchwork pumpkins in shades of orange, gray, and black, with lots of fun fabric combinations. We quilted it in Windswept, adding flowing swirls throughout the pumpkins and background. The cozy orange backing really shows off the quilting!

Her winter village quilt is filled with colorful houses, snowy trees, reindeer, and all sorts of charming Christmas details. We quilted it in Midnight Sparkle, adding swirls and stars to complement the festive scene.

Paula’s cat quilt is full of personality, with playful cats, funny sayings, and a great combination of black, red, and cream fabrics. We quilted it in Dear Heart, which adds hearts throughout the quilt and looks especially fun against the bright pink backing.

Finally, her shamrock wall hanging features several shades of green in traditional pieced blocks. We quilted it in Baptist Fan, giving it a classic finish that works beautifully with the traditional fabrics and piecing.

Barb made this beautiful quilt for her new baby grandson, Nathan! She used the Upscale Plaid pattern by Lo & Behold Stitchery, combining several shades of blue with crisp white and little touches of warm brown. I love the clean, modern look of this pattern and how the different blues overlap to create the plaid design.

We quilted it in Diagonal Plaid, adding another layer of geometric texture that works so well with the piecing. And tucked onto the back is a sweet embroidered message from Nana to Nathan, a special little detail he’ll have for years to come!

Jan brought in this striking quilt featuring beautifully detailed woodland animals, birds, and butterflies! The floral appliqué adds such a fun touch to each animal, and I love how the birch bark backgrounds and rich shades of brown, rust, and black give the whole quilt a rustic, outdoorsy feel. The staggered arrangement of the blocks makes it especially interesting to look at.

We quilted it in Wood Grain, which was a natural choice for this woodland theme! The flowing, irregular lines add texture and movement while complementing the woodsy fabrics and letting those detailed appliqué designs stand out.

Eileen pieced this lovely quilt using the traditional Churn Dash block. I love the soft, cheerful mix of pinks, blues, greens, yellows, and purples! The variety of prints gives each block a slightly different look, while the pale pink sashing ties everything together.

We quilted it in a classic meander, adding soft, rounded texture across the quilt without competing with the piecing. Sometimes a simple quilting design is just what a traditional quilt needs!
