Today I moved my son out from the dorms at OSU and tomorrow is my daughter's last day of being a freshman in High School. They have an early day tomorrow, so I'll most likely take both of the kids out and do something fun with them after I pick her up from school. Crazy week this week, but I'll be back working on motors Friday (maybe 😂) or Monday. I hope that everyone enjoys their weekend! It's supposed to be in the triple digits here Sunday, and won't cool back down again till Wednesday. 🥵

2 videos in 1. Pressure testing that 2004 Mercury 115hp EFI 4-stroke gearcase at 15psi. It held 15psi for over 11min and didn't lose any pressure. It's sealed.

Back on this 2004 Mercury (Yamaha) 115hp in-line 4cyl EFI 4-stroke.

Last week I removed the lower unit, prop and hardware, and water pump assembly. Pressure test & vacuum test the gearcase for over 10min each way, and no leaks. I had some "haters" say I bet it won't hold 12psi, I bet it won't 15psi. So, today I pressure tested the gearcase again and it held 15psi for over 11min and still no leaks.

With that out of the way, I installed a new water pump impeller. I cleaned & lubed everything prior to install. Wire brushed & greased the housing bolts. Cleaned & greased the studs. Cleaned & greased the upper driveshaft splines, lower wear area, and shift rod. Reinstalled the lower unit on the engine. Cleaned & greased the prop shaft before installing the prop & hardware. Installed new gear oil. Put the engine in water, test ran the engine, cleared out the pi**er, and all is good.

Thanks again, Brady! 💪🏽🎣

New customer dropped off his new to him 2005/06 Mercury (Yamaha) 15hp short shaft 4-stroke. He said that it only ran with the choke, he went through the carb, but is still having running issues. Wants me to check it out for him.

I'll be on this one later this week or next week sometime. Stay tuned....🤙🏽

Good customer dropped off his new to him boat for me to check out and go through both engines. A 1996 Mercury 150hp V6 2-stroke (with carbs and the oil-injection system bypassed) and has a tiller handle and jet pump & a 2015 Yamaha 9.9hp kicker. He gave me the invoice from when both engines were last serviced on 8-18-2025 for a total of basically $1600. He said he hasn't tried to start the main engine yet, but the kicker doesn't run. He wants me to check out both engines and make sure both are ready for use. In the previous invoice, they mentioned that they haven't been ran for 1.5yrs before they serviced it but has new gas.

I'm gonna be checking out both engines, test run them, and then kinda go from there on them.

Stay tuned....🤙🏽
