A barrel fan is an easy breezy way to keep your work space cooler and ventilated. If you want to kick things up a notch, a system of fans and strategically placed is the way to go. Install a vent or full exhaust fan in the ceiling to pull hot air out, open the garage door a couple of feet and place your barrel fan bring in fresh air.
