🚨 SCAM PAGE ALERT: "Rusty Aircooled VW Works" 🚨
Hey everyone, wanted to put out a quick warning for the Texas VW community and air-cooled enthusiasts.
There is a fake page running around called "Rusty Aircooled VW Works" that is actively trying to scam people looking for parts, engine builds, or restoration work.
Here are the facts:
-They stole their address: They are listing their physical address as 1215 Heights St, Pasadena, TX. That is the physical location of Bugoholics, a highly respected, legitimate shop that has been serving our community for over two decades.
-Fake Details: They have purchased fake followers (sitting at 11k+ but with almost zero genuine engagement), listed their hours as "Always Open," and are using a 979 area code phone number that doesn't match the Pasadena area at all.
-The Scam: They are likely using stolen build photos to bait people into messaging them, only to demand upfront deposits via Zelle, Venmo, or cash apps before disappearing.
Facebook's automated reporting tool is useless and claims this doesn't violate their standards, so we have to look out for each other.
