💡 HARLEY FLIP TIP #6: PITTED CHROME

Not all pitted chrome is equal. Light hazing polishes out — deep pits don't.

The test takes two seconds: drag a fingernail across it. If a pit catches your nail, the chrome is dead. It never comes back, and rechroming costs more than the part is worth.

Run your nail before you run your mouth with an offer.

💡 HARLEY FLIP TIP #5: SHOCK SHOPPING

Used shocks can be a steal or scrap — two checks tell you which.

One: measure eye to eye. The wrong length changes your whole ride height.
Two: run a finger down the shaft. Any oil film means the seal is gone, and a blown shock is scrap, not a deal.

Dry shaft, right length, or walk away.
