Reminder: Two spooky-fun events tonight, and you can catch both.

Ghouls Night Out in Perry and Trunk or Treat in Warner Robins.

Tonight is a great night to get the family out in costume. Ghouls Night Out runs from 5:00 to 7:30 PM in Historic Downtown Perry, about a 1.5-mile drive from the park.

Over in Warner Robins, the city's Trunk or Treat runs from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at Perkins Field (Mulberry Street & Young Avenue), with a Food Truck Roundup until 9:00 PM, so dinner is handled too.

A few simple steps to keep uninvited guests out.

Fall is prime time for mice and other critters to go looking for shelter, and RVs have plenty of tiny openings. Take a few minutes this week to check where pipes, wires, and slide-outs meet the frame, and seal small gaps with steel wool or expanding foam made for RVs. Keep food in sealed containers, wipe up crumbs, and don't leave pet food out overnight. If your rig is going into storage soon, peppermint oil on cotton balls or dryer sheets in cabinets can help discourage visitors. A little prevention now saves chewed wires later.

Corn dogs, concerts, and one last weekend of midway lights.

If the Fair has been on your list, this is the weekend to make it happen. Jesse McCartney plays tonight, Tracy Byrd is Friday, and Saturday brings the Corn Dog Eating Competition, which is exactly as fun to watch as it sounds. The Fair closes Sunday, October 18 with Rumba Latina. There's still time to grab a site and make a weekend of it.

Easy tips for a Fair day that doesn't wear you out.

Staying close to the Fairgrounds is a big advantage, so make the most of it. Leave the rig set up and take your tow vehicle or a rideshare over, it's a lot easier than hunting for big-vehicle parking. Wear your most comfortable shoes, because 1,100 acres is a lot of ground. Pack a small bag with sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, and a phone charger.

Check the Fair's daily schedule online before you go so you don't miss the shows you care about. Here's the best part: you can head back to your site midday for a break and go back for the evening concert and fireworks.

Free admission today for service members, veterans, and their families.

Today is Patriotic Day at the Georgia National Fair. Active duty, veterans, reservists, and military retirees, along with their immediate family members, get in free with military ID. And tonight at 7:30 PM, Darryl Worley is on the Georgia National Stage.

With Robins Air Force Base just up the road, we see a lot of military families come through the park, and we can't think of a better way to say thank you than a day at the Fair.
