What an incredible Sunday in the historic Village of Pinehurst as we welcomed more than 130 outstanding automobiles and their passionate owners to the 2026 Sandhills Motoring Expo Concours in the Village.

We are proud to announce this year's Class Winners and Special Award Recipients, whose vehicles represent the very best in automotive enthusiasm. From vintage classics and rare collectibles to modern performance machines and automotive legends, the quality of this year's show field was truly exceptional.

Sandhills Motoring Expo Announces 2026 Best in Show Winners at Concours in the Village

PINEHURST, NC — May 24, 2026 — The Sandhills Motoring Expo proudly announced its highest concours honors during the 2026 Concours in the Village, held Sunday, May 24, in the historic Village of Pinehurst. More than 130 judged automobiles representing over 40 manufacturers competed for top recognition in this year’s event.

Best in Show – Sporting

1966 Shelby 427 Narrow Hip Cobra CSX-3131

Awarded Best in Show – Sporting, CSX-3131 is one of only 32 Shelby 427 Narrow Hip Cobras produced in 1966 and one of just 10 known to remain in original body configuration with its original engine and drivetrain.

This highly regarded Cobra was displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August 2025, placing 4th among six of the world’s top Cobra 427 examples, and most recently earned Best in Class at Hilton Head.

Best in Show – Touring

1931 Cadillac 370A V12 Roadster

Receiving Best in Show – Touring, this striking Black and Nut Yellow Cadillac is one of only 91 Roadsters produced in 1931 and represents the final year Cadillac offered a production fully open car.

Equipped with nearly every available factory option—including Pilot Ray driving lights, wind wings, factory spotlight, and the rare Cadillac low-boy trunk—the model was famously selected as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. This vehicle also earned Best in Class at the Indianapolis 500 Centennial Celebration in 2011.

“These automobiles represent the very best of preservation, craftsmanship, history, and automotive passion,” said C.D. Smith, Expo Commissioner. “We congratulate both owners and thank our judges, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators for making the 2026 Sandhills Motoring Expo an extraordinary success.”

The Sandhills Motoring Expo extends its sincere congratulations and appreciation to everyone involved who helped make the 2026 Concours in the Village another memorable success. All award winner information and media coverage will be released later this week.

An event like the Sandhills Motoring Expo does not simply happen - it is created through countless hours of planning, preparation, coordination, and unwavering commitment to creating something truly special for our community and guests.

To Steve, Steve, Steve, John, Doug, Tom, Brandon, Louis, Summer, Duck, and Bryan: from every cone placed, every photo taken, schedule adjusted, car positioned, question answered, and problems solved - your efforts create the atmosphere, hospitality, and excellence that define the Expo.
