Seating and Sleeping: The Waypoint Breakdown
A lot of vans ask you to choose. Room to sit or room to sleep. Space for people or space for gear. Pick one.
Waypoint doesn’t make you choose.
Hit one switch and the electric poptop rises in about forty seconds, unlocking a full 8 feet of headroom and an upper sleeping loft that feels open, light, and nowhere near cramped. The mattress cushions, tucked against the ceiling during the day, slide smoothly into place to form a full-size sleeping surface you can actually sit up in.
Below, the custom aluminum panel bed, 72” by 69” and framed entirely in marine-grade aluminum, does double duty as rear dinette seating by day and a second sleeping surface by night.
Add the swivel captain’s chairs up front, built to rotate and join the cabin instead of staying locked forward, and the quick-release bench seating that comes out entirely when the trip calls for cargo instead of company.
Because the poptop stays open to the cabin below, temperature control follows you upstairs and down. On mild nights, clerestory windows in the canopy pull in fresh air and cross ventilation keeps it moving, no fans required. When the weather has other plans, CruiseNComfort A/C and an Espar diesel heater are standing by, so neither summer nor winter dictates where you park.
The math is simple: seats four, sleeps four, on two levels that never get in each other’s way, in whatever climate you find yourself in.
This is what we mean when we say a build should work as hard as the person driving it. Waypoint doesn’t have wasted space. It has space that knows what day it is.
